Both with the voice actor and the writing, I feel they nailed Hojo. In particular his psychosis. I know this is not the only take on him, but hear me out. To Hojo; everything with the Ancients, with Mako, with all of it, there is an almost religious zealotry to it. He views his actions as a sort of holy calling. He is disgusted with everyone’s greed. But like he said he satisfies their greed so he can keep doing what he is doing. But all of this is psychosis, and his very dialogue reflects that. He doesn’t seem like he is trying to emotionally damage Aerith when he offers for her to see her mother. Though he explains it would be in a microscope he doesn’t seem to think this would be an issue to someone. To look upon an Ancient in any way would be a sort of transcendent experience. He almost seems incapable of even understanding WHY anyone would NOT want to look at an Ancient. His infatuation with her mother is like interacting with a Goddess to him. Similarly, Aerith is possibly close to a demigoddess to him. In this they make Hojo into someone horrifyingly disturbing, unceasingly zealous, and as such very dangerous. Sorry for a long post, and this is not an attempt to forgive Hojo his actions. Just an observation of a very interestingly complex villain.

Mine is propably Barret's cry at the collapsed entrance of Sector 7. His voice cracking when he said _GodDAmmit_ hit hard after seeing his ridiculous side for the rest of the game. This is amazing considering how in the original game the scene is kind of goofy. It is amazing what this remake does.

That VR room showing the history was the most amazing part of the whole game for me. I played the original when it came out and got lost in this magical place as a 13 year old. Seeing the depth added to it throughout was so great but that one part brought me back to 1997 and the house I grew up in. Hard to put into words but it made this 34 year old well up with happiness and a warmth that can't be replaced.

You can sau what you want about this game, but they managed to make you feel stuff. WHen i played the OG back in the day, i was bummed out or though to myself "well that sucks" when something was happening. But now with the natural banter, the detailed expressions and the VA, you can't help but going for a Feels trip on the Feels train...
