I am glad you have been flying to see the world. When you have that experience working for an airline it is a great experience. Too see the world while you work is just awesome. I am glad I have flown just under ten years to see the world. Since leaving my airline, I still have good friends who let me fly on their passes to see more of the world...Well, if this is your last week and last working flight as a Cabin Crew Member/Flight Attendant than you take care. You have given yourself such a great gift. I am glad I was able to talk to another Flight Attendant/Cabin Crew Member in the industry....

Outstanding photo/video journal, Alan! I'm sure it will bring back memories for years to come. Educational, too. You obviously spent a great deal of time on it and put a lot of your heart into it. It shows. Based on your map (nice idea on the animation!), I'm surprised you did not pursue trips to Singapore and Buenos Aires. Perhaps I missed the comment, but I didn't catch what the asterisk stands for on your personal ratings (e.g., 3*). Could you help me understand? A lot of places seem to be rated as 2 or lower. (I take it you loved Cape Town as much as I did--since you gave it a 6 out of 5.) And I'm sure there's an interesting story behind the one female celebrity/host who merited just a single star (or was it 0 stars)? ;-) Since your video was published 3 years ago, I'm sure you're well into the next chapter in your life. I wish you well. And thanks, again, for taking the time to share your memories. Very enjoyable viewing. Cheers!

Thank you so much for your wonderful introduction to what to see in Cape Town, not necessarily known as one of the safest towns in the world to say the least. South Africa in general seems to be in turmoil but you made it appear to be quite a desirable place. You are a good commentator and it certainly appears that you enjoyed your job as a flight attendant with British Airways...… one of the finest airlines in the world!! You are very lucky to have had an opportunity to work for BA. There are thousands of pretty boys and girls who would gladly give their all including their virginity to have what you had and yet you gave it away , hopefully for greener pastures!!

Hey, I'm not sure if you will read this but, I'm currently in a pre-training program, did any other crew you trained with go through this type of program if so, did it help them? And did B.A give you an allowance for longer periods, if so how much? I haven't gone through your previous blogs but have you ever had to do pre cautionary evac? And finally what's the most serious in flight incident you have experienced were you ever given the NITS brief?
@themayburys
@themayburys 7 жыл бұрын
No one on my course did, it's not essential but I'm sure it's helpful. You get paid by the hour so the longer the trip the more you get paid. I haven't had anything major or a NITS briefing thankfully.

Yeah I know, I got a bollocking at LHR last week for commuting home in uniform with me ID ON.. because when youre not on duty its not to be worn! Was just curious if you guys had been told something different as I see a lot of MF crew commuting not in uniform, but with ID on

Sakshi: Well if they like you it is really straight forward and you get the job right away ( I am talking in general not necessarily for BA) Getting a flight attendant job and the interviewing process is very subjective...… the interviewer has to like you and develop a bond with you...… not always an easy thing to accomplish as they may not like you for no fault of yours. You have to be good looking and have good speaking abilities and lastly but not least you have to be from the right racial/ethnic category that your applied to airline is looking for, if you are not from that ethnic group with the language skills …. you are not going to get this very coveted job. Just remember there are THOUSANDS of pretty boys and girls who apply for these jobs very few select actually get hired. If you apply to major airlines, the hiring process gets even more harder. Good Luck!!

Your videos are just compulsive viewing. I wish when I flew from LHR TO JFK the Cabin crew members were as nice as you seem. I mentioned to the cable crew member I had ordered chicken and with a look of distane she replied it was. For me downhill from there on. Oh the joys of travelling economy with BA.
