LOL at your reaction to the second scavenging, yes my pool was kind of gross
@wheals21 күн бұрын
Also, believe it or not, I only went 3-3 with my pool. Despite all the bombs, it was not flush on playables, and variance and misplays come to us all (that and Kanister trouncing me in one match).

I think BW splashing red was the way to go with this build... Evolving Wilds + Wind-Scarred Crag + 1 or 2 Mountains with Solemn Simulacrum and Campus Guide would give you 5 or 6 red sources to cast Chandra and Burst Lightning.... Merry Christmas, Paul and thanks for all the great content!

I Am with u on that and wondered why it was not a Consideration. the Bolt would have helped with the interaction and is a way better card than Aberration and Chandra is better than Scavenger although probably not as constantly playable.

I feel like there was some sort of 3- to 4-color green pile in there to support the Chandra and the good black cards. But maybe that would have been too greedy.

Hi paul, you might not believe me, but as a fellow gemini the sagittarius is a pest in our life, look in the jewish calendar for the end of the "month" Kislev, things might improve for us once this season is over hahahahahah don't beat yourself to much about it I really felt you when you told your story about not being able to make day 2 in the open in the LR podcast and now failing to find the best line or doubting yourself, this season is a common ocurrance.

Had a somewhat similar pool. Chandra was my only good card and almost no red playables. I ended up going GW splash Chandra. I am pretty sure the best option here is a Sam Black style multicolor green deck relying on bushwack and grow from ashes. But the lack of late game like tatyova and snarespinner probably dooms this pool anyways. Loot could have helped. I don't think your 2 color options were powerful enough vs avg sealed pool. I lost badly too btw.

It would be quite cool if you did some content reviewing some other streamers limited decks, that way we could see your thought process and then for formats you are having trouble with see how you analyse them! Numotnummy went 7-2 first time in this event. he hasn't uploaded a stream yet but it's up on his 17lands. would be interesting to hear what you thought of his deck!

I think it's just figuring out how to fit the bombs into your build for FND sealed, since the power level disparity between common and rare / mythic is so high in this format.
@haumph20 күн бұрын
agreed. I should have just jammed the Chandra some way.

Don't beat yourself up too much, man. Your draws were 90% of the time ABYSMAL. Your deck was good, and your gameplay was top-notch.
@tomh666721 күн бұрын
Oof! Rough beats. On day two I had to play a BW deck much like yours. Lots of value cards that are good in sealed, but opponents would just land three bombs in a row and drawing a card off of Helpful Hunter suddenly didn't seem all that great. But so goes sealed I suppose.

I would have been 5 color green with this pool. Or maybe WBRG, but I would be tempted to also splash the dreading scavenger. But I am the guy in your comments section never shutting up about multi color decks That said I think it’s Way easier to get away with greed decks in best of three formats particularly sealed. As the formats are slower. It also often gives you the power to overcome most other decks in the format who are just working with what they have in their 2 colors
@crashtestcowboy121 күн бұрын
I started just playing all the bomb/best cards of any color, forcing the mana to fit & started winning consistently in sealed. Looks like you are still trying to build a draft deck in sealed. Bombs & removal…..make it work.

I played BW yesterday The deck was too heavy on low drops, it didn't do well
@thelifedragon215620 күн бұрын
considering this is bo3 sealed, having the more consistently good deck rather than the deck with just 1 card thats super bomby seems way better. i dont think the red black is even a question, its just too many filler cards for this format. the BU deck looked the best to me as well. some people are saying you could have splashed Chandra with all the fixing in the pool, and i mean yeah, you might be able to do that. but im not sure its worth the hassle. running filler cards, tap lands, running non on color basics. do all that and maybe still not even be able to cast it sometime cuz its double red and a 7 drop. so yeah, i just dont know. i dont love it.
@haumph20 күн бұрын
Yeah that's what I ultimately decided as well but given the result, I was starting to second guess my decision.
@krzysztofsommerfeld359221 күн бұрын
I though the deck was really great and could actually do the job and it did few times :D I added some random cheap stuff to surivive the early turns becouse I thought I should win longer games by card advantage and lots of removal. Did floodout in most of my lost games however.
@mathijs1987j21 күн бұрын
Haven't watched the games yet. I would play blue black and splash th Chandra (and play the artifact splash card to support it). Greedy, but I am greedy. Chandra just seems so strong that it feels worth it to play survive till you hit Chandra. (And blue black seems very good at surviving.)
@mathijs1987j21 күн бұрын
Ok, I watched the games now. When you draw like that, it doesn't really matter what you play. You gotta pick up your draw game.
@sirhadouken609120 күн бұрын
Ill be honest, not a fan of sealed on arena. My pools for me are usually never consistent and end up Frankensteining something together. Foundations sealed is kind of meh to me. Draft is fun but yeah. Honestly most of those games came down to your opponents just drawing better and you getting flooded. Still appreciate the content though as always.

BW really needs a bomb to be good in this format... get an Elenda, Bloodthirsty Conquerer, High-Society Hunter or heck even just Arbiter of Woe atleast... without one of those the deck just doesn't have any real way to close out games solidly.
@haumph20 күн бұрын
yeah that's what it seemed like. I probably should have just stayed Dimir
@joshuasbrooks20 күн бұрын
@@haumph The pulls were difficult to judge in all honesty. With the Pick, Simulacrum and dual lands you had it's possible Mardu or maybe Grixis (though it's a stretch mana wise) could have been correct with just the Burst Lightning and Chandra, giving you that late game bomb that was really missing from the rest of your pulls.
