🇬🇧 That's all, folks! I'm now moving on to different things in life, at least for the next year. As I've said before, this may not be goodbye forever, as I may return to this channel at some point. In the meantime, I'll still be around in some format (to be announced!). I hope you understood the themes and meanings alluded to in this video. It may all seem VERY contradictory, but that was the whole point. Life is contradictory, there is no end, and really, no one has a clue what they are doing! If you would like to know more about the making of this video and a full list of 'easter eggs', hidden meanings, and symbolism throughout (seriously), *click on this link* - docs.google.com/document/d/1jv2dVlR3NXDHGUqo91HvD5dZdPXImDK9paRzeDlDM1E/edit See you later! Hola hola David First of all! ¡Feliz año nuevo, happy new year 2023¡ I just thought of you at this sleepless early morning moment as YT hasn't sent me notifications for a while (but if you like something [or someone] you make an effort!) anyway, sad to learn about your decision but it's all good as we need to adapt to times, places, moments and oneself You've been my favourite YTer for a while and yes it's hard to learn and grasp the actual happening without a shock but it's a new year and a new beginning as well so it's understandable and we'll see where this new year takes us for new adventures and surprises I'm glad for you that you were able to travel, see, enjoy and live so many things in the past year with ups and downs (as it's the only way to grow and value things around us) you are a nice person (flaws and strengths included!) and I wish a even better year for you to enjoy ahead of you Whatever and wherever you do and go in the months to come I wish all the best and blessings too You be good take good care and a big hug for you along your way and I found this for you Traditional Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm on your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. May God be with you and bless you, May you see your children’s children. May you be poor misfortune, Rich in blessings, May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward. May the road rise to meet you May the wind always be at your back, May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home, And may the hand of a friend always be near. May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the sky above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hears that love you. And a second version too! May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm on your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you May there always be work for your hands to do, May your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine warm on your windowpane, May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you, And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. May you live as long as you want, And never want as long as you live. Always remember to forget The troubles that passed away. But never forget to remember The blessings that come each day. Tis better to buy a small bouquet And give to your friend this very day, Than a bushel of roses white and red To lay on his coffin after he’s dead. May the blessings of each day Be the blessings you need most. Wherever and whenever ready David you'll have people loving you and waiting for you when that happens Blessings dear David And for sure I will see you in another video! (There's a long list still to watch!) Hasta luego y feliz año nuevo!

Thanks man! Right now I'm taking a little break (from everything) before focusing on new things. If I do come back for a reboot, it will probably be very different. I mean it's something I can do, but if I wanted it to be something more serious I'd have to change it to a more 'business approach', and stick to one country/region, and possibly change the focus of it. These 6 years have been about 'my journey'. It probably wouldn't be about that, but for now I'm not thinking about it!

Before I touch on the emotional bit, can anyone reading this please just take a moment to appreciate the forward planning, expert editing, and general bloody awesomeness that went in to making this video. I'm just blown away. David "hun", perhaps you should write for Dr. Who as your next project. I discovered this channel due to a shared love of Brutalism, and you've shown some epic pant-wetting examples. Concrete for life, baby! Hats off to you for turning your life around. For "getting off your fat arse and doing something about it". Thank you for sharing those six years with us, for making us laugh, for your brutal honesty, and for taking the road less travelled. You're an inspiration. Where are you meant to be? Exactly wherever you are. I believe the only thing you're 'meant' to do is follow your heart. David, thank you. It's been an absolute pleasure. With great appreciation and love, "catch ya later". ❤ P.S. To the person who commented 'boring' - I'm going to assume that you either don't know or understand about David's background and story and therefore the purpose of this video, or that 'boring' is a misnomer and the word had been incorrectly used due to a translation issue. I'm sure you're not intentionally being a c*ck.

Jayne is top tier elite as always! Very few people recognise the work that goes into KZbin, particularly a video like this. I LOVED IT!♥ That intro! fabulous! and the rest too! The words of that U2 song "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" was weirdly playing in my mind, while watching this, and that's OK. The answer, for me, came when you said "I need to deal with and focus on myself/trauma" (self development etc) We can go around the world 100 times.... and lucky if we ever understand that. Good job on the series. Appreciate your hard work, filming, editing, story telling, drone flying, foreign language earning ... you have developed useful skills. This is my first ever KZbin comment and David I want to thank you for the exellent content done over the years. Having lived some 7-8 years as a "digital nomad" in CDMX (aka DF back then) during the first decade of 2000 I can relate to many of the challenges you have been facing. Even though I have travelled in MX (and elsewhere) quite a bit, I have really enjoyed your takes on modern and the less touristic parts of MX. I even used your Iztapalapa video about the cable car to show a friend originating from there ( but living in Finland) how it looks and feels. 😀 Also I believe I originally found your channel through an old friend from Acapulco who was impressed about your videos from Acapulco and was commenting them in FB. What I want to say with this, is that the content you have been producing has a lot of value also beyond the "obvious" target group and we will be dearly missing your videos and wit comments. I wish you all the best and in case you decide to make a comeback, please do let us know! Greetings from Helsinki
@davidostrowski679 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! This means a lot. I often don't realise what an impact creating content can have and often forget that viewers may not be in the same position or have the opportunity to travel. Acapulco! I love hearing viewer origin stories! And Iztapalapa! Legendary! I'm not even contemplating a comeback right now, but as I've always said, it's always a possibility for the future. I just have to work out how I would do that and how I would not allow it to impact my experience or life in general. It would probably be very different, but for now, this 'journey' is over and I'm excited to see what comes next!
@mr.anderson736 Жыл бұрын
I really liked the final speech while switching between countries, good editing right there. I'll miss your videos but I'm happy you can explore travelling without KZbin, I can see that being a huge weight lifted. You have so much content already, and everytime I visit a new city I rewatch your video on it (I'm in Durango MX and rewatching your video on that). You inspire and once again you're funny as fuck. If we cross paths on our travels I will gladly smoke a cig and drink some wine with you. Buena suerte amigo!
@davidostrowski679 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like a plan Mr Anderson! It's a great point that there's so much content, it's not going anywhere and will remain! Weight lifted absolutely! It's almost as if I don't know how to travel without filming it and I'm looking forward to explore that. I'm about to do a community tab post with more detail on what's to come. Thanks re the final speech scene! That was a nightmare and I'm not good at acting! The first one was the Mexico part which I very much did off the cuff with no plan. I wrote down the speech and basically re-enacted parts in Belgrade, Zagreb and Kazanlak and spliced them all together!

That's where I stayed in London the first time I went. I kind of remember that the subway station was Hounslow West. I could hear the rumbling Concorde 5 or 6 or more times a day. The subway trip to downtown London was long. And I don't remember much else. I remember the smell of the train stations, a little like Diesel or something but not much else.

Ha you just described my 20s/30s! My closest station was Hounslow Central, and I used to get that train into central/east London every day for work. I remember once on the tube, some black crap like coal flew through the window and I got covered in it! Concorde! When I lived in Feltham down the road, my bedroom windows used to shake when I was a kid when Concorde took off as we lived just south of the flight path!

Merry Christmas! I didn't expect to listen to A Rainy Night in Soho at 1am in Washington DC on Christmas morning...I think this is the most unusual night I've experienced in Washington. All three bars in my neighborhood, Cleveland Park were closed before midnight. I caught a ride to another neighborhood that would have had some choices before Covid. Two places were open and I went to one for a couple. The other was clubbier than my desire. Then, Dupont Circle - the part my nice taxi driver took me by - was closed. He suggested an Ethiopian place in another neighborhood since Coptic Christmas in on January 7, but I was done and I suspect they were too. Streets as quiet as could be. It was -11C in DC on Christmas Eve - but really! I haven't been out in six weeks and this was the quietest Saturday night in history. It makes me wonder about Washington DC and, hence, my country. Maybe just a spiteful comment from a guy who wanted to drink. Part of me would have liked to be at a midnight service, since I believe in the reason for Christmas. It's strange in a way that the various explanations don't answer. Enough about my perplexity! Merry Christmas! I looked up Christmas Day in Bulgaria and saw they follow the Western day - today! I saw Serbia is January 7. Maybe Bosnia gets two Christmases - but is everything quiet twice? I take this as my personal lesson about the author of our existence - the one through whom everything and we were made - becoming a weak baby. The creche. Still damned weird. Again, good luck with your plans. I like the way you speak on KZbin, which must be a part of you. I've lived in the same building for over 20 years and am just finding myself. While my faith is the anchor, I still search, and I hope that I have a plan that will be a good path. Your path - post London at least - is rich! Your communications and English work online not only have supported you a but have helped you learn and other people think. Communication is surely in your future!. I sense you're trying to find a calm that you or I might consider to be home. Not everyone is given home on a platter. But don't be afraid of settling on something - whether a place or an idea. We all need to. You're figuring it out! Maybe a Happy 2023 will help! Sounds like a lucky number!

No way brate! I worked for Tesco as an HR Manager... main competitor haha! Yes that beginning part was meant to shock and of course was absolute acting lol, I don't even really have that accent anymore. And it was bicarbonate of soda from the supermarket!

@@davidostrowski679 Yea, I've read the article you posted. Yet, you might haven't got that western Londoners accent anymore but RP is right there LOL 😀. Most of all I like your diversity and non common approach. Greatly appreciate the way you presented smaller cities and of course my home town of Cacak 🙂. Cheers mate/brate

I have tried to find your voice in other areas, but I'm not skilled. Or you may be quiet. Good for you! I just wonder whether San Luis Potosi is the land-bound Lisbon of northwester Mexico and maybe some bored middle-class Portuguese who don't realize how good they got it might find a retirement home in San Luis. And how many middle-class Mexicans might like Lisbon! Wearing big sombreros tends to be a "thing we don't do" in the USA. This is a crucial point for college kids full of the power of language. Maybe a party country like Mexico sees the party side of the sombrero! And I wish party times for you!
@fredericktmiller Жыл бұрын
It doesn't require being drunk to party and laugh. It does require seeing the vast area even bigger than sorrow that laugher controls

I've disappeared for a while Fred! I'm not even posting Instagram stories much. I mentioned in one of my last videos about wanting to be 'invisible' after having to be visible on social media for years. So far it's been so healthy and I'm discovering who I am without being my KZbin character. Hope you're doing well Fred!

What I notice from your videos....is folowing...Living in the Eastern Bloc in the 80's....wasn't too bad....compared to London...we weren't that far behind.... I was also surprised by the stories of my aunt, who was born in London...because in the 60s...they lived a shitty life in London...my idea was that we are light years behind life in London.....but that was not the case
@davidostrowski679 Жыл бұрын
This is a topic that has always fascinated me and one reason Serbia feels like home! 50s to 70s UK is a period I'm fascinated by as it was just before I was born (82). I think by the 80s, despite there still being many issues with poverty, unemployment, protests etc, things had started to improve, and by the 90s things were far more stable. My sister was born in a caravan during the '3 day week' in 1974 when you could only use electricity for 3 days (coal miners' strikes). I think it was better for people in London than elsewhere in the country. The rise of postwar suburbia and the growth of London was immense

@@davidostrowski679 well in 90s balkan went thru hard time war period....if there would be no war....we would be in much better shape.

absolutely. I remember as a kid watching on the news. Everything was 'ethnic cleansing' being mentioned every 5 minutes. I don't remember much about the NATO bombings being covered though, although I could be mistaken, I was at college probably revising for exams at the time so news wasn't really my focus. I think I said in one of my first Serbia videos in 2019, there was never any focus on the impact of all this on the average Serb, always Serbia being viewed in a negative light. Thankfully I now know more!
