My First 1982 KITT Knight Rider Pontiac Trans Am Episode 6

In this episode, The Trans Am comes back from the paint shop. I already put the spoiler and other things on that I took off for painting. Even though It just came home today, I have not washed it.
This future K.I.T.T. is available to purchase. It is a very solid rust free car.

Steve, looks great! excellent paint job, nice tour. Looking forward to seeing it in the sunshine. Also, I enjoyed the visit from Daisy (she is just like my childhood border collie). I thought I would mention that in Torino #30 the temperature gauge did not work, and we found the problem was a failed sending unit. We traced the wiring from the unit to the dash first and tested it (while we were replacing bulbs in the dash) and wiring checked out, guage worked in test, so we went to the effort to replace the sending unit, and viola! Works like a charm. So, new owner can look into that, or you and your mechanic buddy can team up on it. Best wishes, . . . Mike

Hey there Mike. With Daisy being half border collie, I can see her reminding you of your dog. Her other half is Golden retriever. I might look into the sending unit. That is probably the case since all the wiring in this car seems to be very good. This was a fun project. Now I have to sell it so I can find me a GTA Trans Am with the digital dash. Still looking. I know of about 5, 3rd gen Trans ams in my part of town but no GTAs.

Thanks Tony, Bring on the mad max car. I'll put a few bullet holes in it and whip it with a chain a few times so it's screen accurate...nah, I couldn't do that. We'll make her nice and glossy.

If you car still has the catalytic converter I wouldn't use Racing Oil, it has zinc in it. Zinc plugs up converters.

I'd be glad to Robert. The cost of shipping it up here would be really high. If the world still exists or we haven't been raptured, I could come down some time and do it for you. Not summer though. I'm done with that crazy heat.

Where did you find those caps? Hope your wife is doing better can you give me a link for the caps..

Hi Richard, Thank you for your prayers for my wife. She has had a rough year. As for the hub caps. Those are custom ones I made. I used 1987 or 1988 Nissan Skyline hub caps and then heavily modified them. The hold on like nobody's business, not like the molded ones that are out there.
