@@born_again_torinos I just finished watching the last video, you truly pour your heart and soul into these S&H Torinos. I polished mine before putting it away for the winter and a couple of passes with the orbital and the Adam’s One Step polish and it comes out perfect. I really love how much easier it is to get a great shine from a single stage paint than BC/CC. I plan on putting in a new package tray I purchased over the summer next Spring and detail under the hood to make the engine paint shine. I really would love to purchase the tiny polisher to get the hard to reach areas but I have to see what they are going for these days. I love the Milwaukee cordless buffer and 3 inch polisher/sander but I definitely have to save up for them because they are expensive but definitely worth it. @born_again_torinos2 ай бұрын
Hey Michael, My painter only paints. I do the bodywork and sanding and paint the jams, in the trunk and under the hood.. You always want to do the lightest colors first. So after it's primed and sanded again, the white goes down, then mask out the stripe and shoot the red. the black is the last thing I put on and it's a vinyl pinstripe exactly like the TV show cars had. I try to leave as much original baked on factory primer and paint as I can.

Hey there, The hat tray is made from fiberboard with a interior matching paper glued to it. You can use any stiff material you like and cover it with vinyl. Look at the two clips that screw to the metal behind the seat back that holds down the hat tray. It will show you the thickness. Not sure what moldings you are talking about and which window. I'm starting to get burnt out doing the body work on my Metro, and it has i/4 the area of your car. The rubber bumpers are more work that I thought it would be. What grit do you start out with?
@born_again_torinos3 ай бұрын
You have to be more careful with rubber bumpers, or polyurethane. You shouldn't have dents in them anyway, chips, scratches and gouges yes. As for the metal dings, if the paint is thin use 100 grit with a D.A. Hobo Freight sells a really nice cheap one if you don't have one. Work flat avoiding digging in with an edge. Feather the paint and primer so you don't have a harsh edge. For a ding that is the size of a penny, feather around it about two inches or more and then a few more inches around that for tooth for the filler to grab onto. When sanding the filler hit it gently with the D.A. flat to knock it down a bit, then finish with board sanding. You probably will need to do it twice. Before you paint make sure to move up to 220 grit to finish the whole car. A metro would be fun and easy.
