So many people say "Always book directly" and claim it's not that much more than on third party websites. But from my experience that is not true AT ALL. For example, I'm currently in the process of planning a trip and convenient times are around $400-500 on Expedia/Kayak and through direct airlines sites like Frontier, Sun Country, Delta, etc. it is over $900

A similar scenario happened to me. They did exactly the same thing you are describing. My credit card company advised me to wait two weeks before disputing the charge. After two weeks, there was no refund from Edreams or Opodo (same company it seems). Please tell us if you were able to get your money back from your bank. I hope so. I am waiting for Capital One Bank to refund me. Thank you for the video

I always book with the airline these days. In case of any issue I can reach them and they can help out. No need to contact a third party and all the hassle that comes with it. In case of fraud protection. Always keep in mind if the offer looks to good to be true, don't do it. Also make sure your system is secure and up to date with patches and antivirus and use a VPN when booking tickets.

Number 1 rule: always pay with your credit card. You will get your money back from the credit card company if anything goes wrong. Number 2: ensure you have travel insurance Number 3: never pay via a bank transfer

Having a similar experience with Asiana right now! 2 separate charges on my CC but neither are the prices of the ticket I chose. They also had pending charges on my CC . E-dreams are also bad for hotels. They say a particular deal is cancelable and then when we click and pay it now shows it as not cancelable. Also I got sucked in thinking I was paying Australian dollars when it was USD and so was actually more expensive than I had thought. And for airline tickets they lie about the online automatic check in options, its not available on all flights, depends on the country.

Sorry for your bad experience, hope your credit card reimbursed you. I have not had this but felt uneasy with my flights once I got to Thailand. I could not contact anyone on the booking site due to new phone number(new sim card) and new ip address(not my home ip address) so until I got back to airport and had a ticket in hand I was stressed. I will take better precautions next time.

Problem is the cost. I had to book with a travel agent once again because the price difference was £700+. Emirates direct was £1800 and Expedia was £1100. Thank god nothing happened along the way and didnt need to deal with any bullshit.

Also mytrip is a total scam and should be avoided at all costs. My flight was cancelled by the airline 6 weeks ago, mytrip received the refund from the airline and they are telling me they will charge me 40 euro just to send the refund to me. Plus they will not refund any additional services like baggage and the EXTRA surcharge I paid them for customer support (I wonder what support I am receiving when I even need to pay in order to receive my refund). Today they even told me that I cancelled my booking myself, 6 weeks after I was supposed to fly, and that's why I need to pay 40 euro cancellation fee.... one month ago they had told me the fee was 15 euro.

Yes i learned the hard way I used an 3rd party Just fly booking site they sold me ticket for the wrong day. I was coming from International flight from Ecuador to Florida .Another flight on Delta florida to Illinois because is no direct flight to my city . When reached to Florida and tried to board the plan I realized that the ticket was sold uncorrectly. Delta said we cant help you because you are not a real delta customer because you booked through 3 rd party. Just fly refused to help me. To make long story short I had enough reward points to take an flight with jetblue to closest city and then look a bus for 3 hours home and uber. After this experience I only look for flight and then book on the company website for that direct flight.In the end you pay more when there is a problem.I contacted delta and was issued a full refund due to the bad customer I received

Learned my lesson at the beginning of Covid and UK stopped people traveling so I couldn't travel if i wanted to, and the booking agents did not care, all they kept saying was do you want to cancel and you will have to pay £500, I had no choice in the end as I was traveling to China of all places, so I had to take it on the chin and lose the money. Anyway I learned a valuable lesson and I always book direct with airline and would rather pay a extra few £££.

I just realized that hundreds of people have been complaining about their refunds. Blablabing this matter is childish and demand a legal action immediately. It is not possible to let eDreams continue their unfair trade practice and cry. No people MUST get together now and seek a good lawyer. If I can afford to lose 1600! USD I am not a loser i will never give up to follow a principle that crooks must pay. eDreams it's registered in Madrid Spain.

All those third party travel agencies are suspicious, don't trust them at all, I also had a similar experience last summer where I booked a flight with them from Madrid to Lisbon through Edreams, and while the flight there was fine when I went to do the check in at the return with easyjet it didn't accept the check in numbers they gave me and at the airport the flight was nowhere on the monitors, a lady at the airline desk told me it had been cancelled but I didn't get any refund or couldn't find it on the internet to get compensation with air-help. Always book with the airline directly and be wiiling to pay insurance for cancellation for important flights.

Tah, this is terrible. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Actually my friend had an issue with eDreams as well a while back. He bought a ticket to Venezuela because his mom had just died. Then suddenly they cancelled his flight and wouldn't refund him. Several months went by and they kept ignoring him. Finally he started to call them out on Twitter and other social media, and finally they refunded him. But that was like 10 months later. What was the conclusion of your story? Did your bank cover the charge? Did you ever get ahold of eDreams? Or did you just completely lose your money?

Aww my bank cover the first charge of Edream but the transaction under AirIndia is still in progress.. they said it could take up to 45 days till i get my money back. For Edream i can not get ahold of them:(

Tah…if you paid by credit card……then your bank could charge it back as “ non receipt of goods” if you didn’t pay by credit card I would threaten sky scanner with legal action as they facilitated the transaction via their web page. They have an obligation to only deal with reputable companies. They clearly referred you via their web page. The question is did they know of past bad experiences from others who have put up bad reports ….I guess the answer would be yes …….so they are liable for your loss

Rule 1; never use your bank account to book your trip. Use a credit card. Never give these sketchy companies direct access to your money. Credit cards are insured against fraud and they'll credit you back quickly.

I found out only insured where countries have those policies. Indonesia only gives money back if you have been scammed and unwillingly given money, if willingly given and they send you a scorpion instead of a medical kit its not their problem.

i always used edreams as reference point for cheap flights. i think they have better system than skyscanner because they dont include self-transfers for multiple airline flight. i only use it as a reference to find which airlines is the cheapest but i always book in the airline website directly because some of the airlines (e.g. turkish airlines) are cheaper than what they broadcast online but you will only know its cheaper when you are already in the final stage of booking.

My daughter just got scammed when she bought her airplane ticket . The scanners where either from Indians or Pakistan . She had to go the same steps as you to able resolve the case. She got back the money eventually but it was a long process and BOAF asked her close the account and open a new one.. sorry That happened to you ❤

Hi Tah. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I have always booked flights online with a Travel company called Flight Center and always got cheap prices and never a problem. When I used them all the flights come up by prices and all the details are there as to the airline, lay overs and everything else you need to know. I hope you can get this fixed and hope you can get home safe. It is not easy getting ripped off and I felt really bad when I was in the Philippines for the second time and had my wallet stolen and somehow someone got money of my replacement credit card so I lost out on a lot and never got any of it back. Just have to try and think positive in these bad experiences and I know this is not your first bad one. Keep smiling and stay safe

I found out I have cancer and need to go home to UK. I paid without prime service so you get zero human interaction. Edreams claimed I was double booked on one of the flights so my friend who is in that line of work contacted a BA agent and gave my details, they gave enough info to say I was booked on the flight and no double booking. So I'm left waiting until tomorrow to see if it sorts itself out or must go to the insurance company to say edreams completely failed. It's very stressful as my lit sister paid for my ticket because of the urgency. Very sad but may the Lord Jesus make good from this bad situation. amen

First of all, this is a ridiculous itinerary to book. Air India and Indigo (LCC) separate tickets. You will need to clear the Indian immigration and customs at Delhi and must have Indian visa. Considering Air India's poor on time performance, it's a gamble to have sefl transfer to Indigo at Kolkata with just 2h windows. You need to pick up your luggage and go out to the landside and check in to Indigo. You shuld have contacted Air India as you were charged by them, probably the ticket had been issued, but eDreams did not forward you due to whatever their system glitch. Indigo would not issue statndard IATA 13 digits etickets as it's an LCC. The most of complaints online about OTA, people basically don't understand what they are doing. Use OTA only if your are familiar with airline tickets and fare rules and have a skill to navigate yourself for troubleshooting.

Tip if you find a better rate online get in contact with the flight company and they will generally match the price. I have been done that and like for example Emirates has matched the price.

They never issue me ticket even it’s been over 48 hours after they charged my card and transaction was posted.. also still didn’t get money back from the transaction under AirIndia … only the one under EDreams which is smaller amount got refunded - this is really interesting
