very happy belated birthday!🥳 awesome haul! sorry to hear about the blurry edges of your fairyloot book. especially annoying as it’s part of a series. i’m with you on the atlas six. but the illumicrate editions are so so very stunning. so, just like you, i ordered the third one without having read book 2 yet. maybe, hopefully, the series continues like the end of book 1 🤞 i was actually very interested in reading what the river knows but moved it down the tbr when i stumbled upon a tweet that cried about it having a cliffhanger. i wasn’t even aware that it’s a series 🫣 have a lovely day/night + happy reading! 💜

Amazing book haul! Your book collection is seriously beautiful 😍 I’ve only ever had to complain to fairyloot once about book damage and they did send a replacement. I’ve just had to complain to illumicrate as my January afterlight book arrived today with a rip in the hardback and the end papers have been bent at the top due to a lack of glue and there’s glue residue on the end papers! (I’m hoping they’ll replace it).

My special edition of Fourth Wing from waterstones got lost in transit, and my special edition of The Beholders from them came with moderate damage to the dust-jacket: both are being replaced (the latter replaced with a standard edition as only the jacket was damaged, they let me keep both), no questions asked. Me personally could not be any happier with their customer service!

Glad your getting another copy of fourth wing. They never shipped my signed edition of fourth wing, took forever for them to get back to me and when they finally did they said they were sorry but they can’t find anymore copies in the wear house so all they can do is send me an unsigned copy of the reprint that I still have to wait months for. Very disappointed 😔

I never really got behind the hype about the Atlas Six. I did recently try to read The Atlas Paradox but ended up dnf'ing it.

Agree about Fairyloot and their flaws. I’ve personally never had an issue with getting replacements for damage to sub books. Though I will say, there seems to be a lot of unnecessary damage happening in packing… However, I’m seeing more and more SE books with flaws. Misalignment, wrong colours, patchiness. And they’re just not replacing or refunding?! It’s so much worse because it is THEIR error, they’ve allowed them to be printed and packed flawed. They can’t blame the warehouse or the postie or customers…

I ordered a book for a friend as well since she's not longer a sub with them, it arrived with the weirdest flaw I've ever seen - the front cover was a whole 1.5 cm wider than the back cover, and it was very visible plus it made the book feel weird to hold - and I had to fight with them, on her behalf, to get a replacement for it

I recently got my set of the bridge kingdom duology from Fairyloot and my traitor queen has a sharpie marks on the back and it looks like someone used a pen and pulled it down the edges, so it’s heavily damaged. I don’t know how it got through QA but it’s disappointing and I’m probably not going to buy much from them in the future.

Ya I've also had some recent issues with FL. I was supposed to receive the Foxglove book (2nd book after Belladonna) and it just got lost in the mail. Granted they gave me a refund, but how do you keep increasing the shipping prices and have shipping prices that are DOUBLE Ilumicrate's (at least for my country) and even then you lose a parcel? Now I can't have the full triology of special editions, because even if I buy the 3rd one, I'm not even sure if it will arrive and the 2nd one will have to be a normal HB. Also everytime that I see that they will do a monthly book with hodderscape, I'm always "scared" because of the China fiasco book edges with some of their editions from last year 😓 PS: love your nails !!!
