I'm a hairdresser and a bleach bath is great if you only want slight lift. I did one on myself today. I had applied a red brown shade that went way too dark. 8 min. With my bleach bath and I was a nice shade of light brown with highlights. I was blonde under the color originally. Now when I do mine I pre mix my bleach, stir in shampoo, and add a bit of tap water so it's a pretty thin mixture but not watery. I apply to cool water dampened hair, shampoo in and watch it closely. I really am not fond of oils or conditioners in a bleach bath. It defeats the lightening process with lower volume developers. I condition well when hair is clean. This was not to judge your process you did alright but could have been lighter without additives for conditioning. You are such a pretty girl. You would look nice with a light brown base color with blonde highlights. A few extra lights by your face and you could forget about those pesky grays showing at face frame. But only a suggestion unless you love very dark shades best Enjoyed your video. Hello from California 😊👍🌸

Thank-you! I've had my hair like that before and really liked it, I've been doing fashion colours lately though. I'll definitely leave out the coconut oil if I do it again. Thanks for the info 😊

Remember, when you dilute the mixture of 30 volume developer with shampoo, it makes it a 20 volume developer! So it wouldn’t do as much damage as it would using 30 volume straight up
@Unorthodoll3 жыл бұрын
That's good to know😊 I'm probably going to do this again when I change my colour but use one part bleach, one part developer and one part shampoo
@breecarnage4213 жыл бұрын
That and wet/damp hair dilutes it as well.

I would recommend you look into no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.

Not bad, but would’ve seen lighter results if you did all equal parts of everything. 1:1:1, bleach powder, developer, clarifying shampoo. 30vol is a bit high, I would’ve used 20vol. Good job though!

Thank you and I will definitely try that next time😊

Blue shampoo would work best for your brown hair. Purple shampoo only works on blonde hair.

This worries me. Why did not all the red or green come out. They are semis right? What is more they were put on brown hair unyet still not washed out. How many shampoos since application was it do you reckon? It puts me off wanting to use semis.
@Unorthodoll2 жыл бұрын
I don't remember how many shampoos this was, but red and greens are notoriously staining. I think if I used a stronger developer or just straight bleach it would have come out. I find darker semis stain more often than lighter ones if that helps.

Diluting the 30v developer basically made it a 20v so it wasn’t that strong

Good to know! I'm so nervous using bleach
@bennu5473 жыл бұрын
I don’t blame you. Better to play it safe. Do some research and slowly know what your hair can take. Apparently thin hair typically doesn’t have much problem putting up with bleach too. Hard to tell on camera but your hair looks thin. But again it’s always better to do your own research and try to be safe

Yes good call, my hair is fine. I used to have platinum bleach blonde hair years ago and it held up pretty well. My scalp on the other hand😬

Use effasol, u can get it on Amazon for 7-8 dollars. It gets black black black, box dye or whatever other dye ,you have in your hair completely out within 10 minutes. My hair is so black it looks blue and it works every time. The only thing it does is dry the living shit out of my hair so you definitely want to use those masks with it. But it would remove all that black, blue and red out, within half the time it took you to do what you were doing.

That's awesome I will definitely check it out

If you do again, use a lot more of the bleach bath and apply it in sections, really saturating it all. For people telling you using 30V and it being diluted is true, however don't go above a 20V. If you want to lighten slowly that's all you need. If you did a 40V and diluted to a 30V it will ripe open your hair shaft and cause damage AKA very dry hair.
@Unorthodoll3 жыл бұрын
Thank-you I'll definitely do that

What was the point to this? I'm confused, if you wanted to lift most of the colors out while keeping the hairs integrity, a color remover is the way to go. A bleach bath is primarily used to lift demi or semi permanent color, color that sits on top of the hair cuticle.To remove permanent color you need to bleach it with either a 20 or 30 volume developer depending on how dark the color is and the hair type.
@Unorthodoll3 жыл бұрын
I wanted to lighten it so I could dye it teal, it worked quite well but its a little dark. I am going to try a colour remover soon though to change it to a warmer colour.
