I’ve been a veterinarian assistant for about 5 years now & I can honestly say that I love the newer veterinarians since they’re actually eager to learn & do their job vs the drs who’ve been working for 15+ years and are rude to their own staff. PLEASE DONT GET LIKE THAT 20 YEARS DOWN THE LINE :-)

Hey Dr. Woods! I'm so proud to see you as a full fledged vet! I remember finding your channel when trying to find good Vet Channels but there were very few and I loved your video instantly. Jaron Dioquino residency isn’t for me! I’m not currently interested in specializing in any particular area of vet med. But I know lots of people who do it and it is good for those looking to focus on a specific aspect, like surgery, exotics, internal medicine, etc.

sofi hanania Hi! I am also an aspiring veterinarian, so far what I have learnt is that volunteering is key. Should start out at shelters, barns and maybe work with reptiles if possible. Another key thing to consider is maybe finding a cheaper alternative maybe a foundation course for aspiring vet students since vet school is really not that cheap. And you should definitely do your research and choose your subjects wisely. Chemistry and Biology are usually required at a higher level for vet courses

I really want to be a vet man I’ve been taking classes for health and taking so much time during high school. I am in my junior year of college pursuing Pre-Vet. I am allergic to dogs and cats. I would recommend spending a lot of time in a clinical setting to see if you can handle constantly being around dogs. In my case, it seemed I got use to it rather quickly

Depends on how allergic you are. If it's mild, just take a zyrtec before handling them. You can also opt not to work with dogs and do large animal, exotics, or feline only.

Im in vet tech school right now. I wanted to go for veterinarian but chemistry was not for me. The program is intense. See what community colleges offer the 2 year program and there's some colleges that offer a 4 year year degree in veterinary technology.

Karille Cabael You do Undergraduate programs before Graduate programs. A Bachelors is a type of degree given from four-year university programs. You need to complete an undergrad program before attending graduate school. I hope this helps!
