YAAAAY! Congrats!!!! I spent 3 years as a pre med major with a lot of pressure from my parents. After my first few weeks in a hospital i realized i was not happy and the little kid in me had a new love for vet science. i always knew i wanted to work with animals and i wish i would have followed my heart to begin with. this video made me so happy & excited.

I’m not sure if you’ll see this Andrew but I started watching your channel as a sophomore in undergrad and I originally used your videos as motivation to get into vet school. Then after getting accepted into vet school I rewatched your videos because they felt relatable. This video was my most relatable experience as I had a similar NAVLE journey as you. I found out I’ve passed my NAVLE today and I just wanted to say thank you for providing this content for me. It has definitely played a role in me achieving my dreams

Congratulations! I'm about to finish my first year of under graduate school by this time next year I'll be getting ready to transfer up to UC Davis as a Junior under graduate. I've always wanted to be a veterinarian but due to personal reasons dropped out of high school. I'm the first generation in my family to attend college. Some others have tried but NEVER make it through a semester. Also I WILL be the first EVER Doctor in my family. My husband supports me greatly..i know vet school is no easy task but lucky for me I have a big iq...respond well to stress and pressure...and have done a lot of volunteering with animals at veterinarian offices, shelters and farms..i study/read/research animal health/anatomy/illnesses etc. Etc. No matter what happens no matter how hard or scary i won't back down and i won't give up or in UNTIL I finish veterinarian school. Good luck in your future practice as a veterinarian. :) got any text books you wanna donate? Lol

Wow congratulations to your new journey! Very proud of you. It takes strength, compassion, and all the drive in your soul to get to be a veterinarian or a medical doctor. I was supposed to apply to vet school this September but am ultimately thinking about withdrawing as I am having second thoughts about being happy in the end. Andrew, did you every deal with dogs and cats with portesystematic shunts? Eight years ago I had a domestic short hair brown tabby cat called Mr. Squealey who died at one and a half with some sort of liver infection. He was such a very nice cat much nicer than my black Michina and the female brown and white domestic short hair cat called Miss Squealey who replaced the original cat Mr. Squealey who died. He was nice and friendly to everybody and had high energy and could jump up high places unlike this female cat which I have now called Miss Squealey. When I took him to the vet for an annual check-up, all of a sudden he fell ill after taking the rabies vaccine. I remember that my favorite cat Mr. Squealey was crying when the vet was injecting the rabies vaccine. I remember that he even bit my father when he did not want to move because he was feeling so sick and he normally did not do it. He was feeling listless and could not move for several days nor eat. Therefore my father and I took him to the vet and the vet realized that he was also breathing heavier than usual and his skin looked all jaundice. She might had thought that he had pancreatitis because many cats then were affected with it. However, my black cat Michina did not have it. The vet ran bloodwork on him and the bloodwork showed that his CK levels were a 100 times higher than usual. The next day he always passed out and took the worst turn ever and the vet told me that he only had two days to live. Then, on the next day, the vets phoned and said that my cat Mr. Squealey had an irregular heart beat and they told me take him to the cardiologist. Finally when we took him to the cardiologist, the cardiologist ran all the tests and said that his heart condition was not serious. It was just minor and his heart did not kill him. It was the infection in his liver. Since you are a soon veterinarian, what might had been the problem for my favorite cat Mr. Squealey to develop a liver infection so young at one and a half and die because it came up all of a sudden. Do you think at his age that it was most likely a birth defect or could the rabies vaccines triggered it? My cat Michina and the new cat Miss Squealey both took the rabies vaccines and had no problems. Both Michina and Miss Squealey survived Mr. Squealey by eight years. They are both nine years old. Although Miss Squealey is a nice and friendly cat and does not bite nor scratch anybody, her behaviour is completely different than Mr. Squealey's. She runs away and hides from people and she is so greedy. She always wants to eat all the time even if I just fed her and gave her a lot to eat and she is definitely not underweight, but a bit overweight. Even if it has been eight years since my favorite cat Mr. Squealey died, I still miss him and feel sad that he passed away.
