Welcome to my favourite city in Nepal, BHAKTAPUR! 😃 Who else thinks the architecture, food, crafts and local people make this place stand out? ⬇

It’s the most amazing piece of craft and architecture which can inspire a lot of people watching your videos and they can recreate such beautiful arch’s in their own place, uniting mother earth. GG Brotha!

People dont realise thats its not just how it looks and feels, quaint and beautiful as it is, not just culture and heritage, but the presence of something ephemeral and eternal in nature. No wonder its called city of devotees.

I'm back home in England now, but this time two weeks ago I was in Bhaktapur. I spent three nights there, having initially stayed in the Patan area of Lalitpur. Bhaktapur felt very different...more geared towards tourists somehow! I liked it, but I'd already fallen in love with Patan, especially the Durbar Square there, which in my opinion was the best of the three Durbar Squares (Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur), so it had a lot to live up to!
@hira2001-l1d
@hira2001-l1d 26 күн бұрын
Bhaktapur Durbar Square had as much temples, palace and structures as Patan but after 1934 earthquake, most of the temples and palaces weren't rebuilt so it looks very open and very less packed than Patan. Bhaktapur municipality is slowly rebuilding all those with help of paintings, records and images from European visitors 100 years ago.
@kayyywild
@kayyywild 25 күн бұрын
Ahhh hey Andy 👋, I appreciate the information. I wanted to visit Lalitpur, but never got around to it. From what you’ve said, sounds like I missed out! I really did love Bhaktapur though, especially with all the historical buildings ❤️. I didn’t feel the touristic feel at all to be honest, but I guess it’s different for everyone. Hope you enjoyed the video anyway Andy, and hopefully you’ll tune into future ones too 😌❤️🇳🇵🙏
@andybaker2456
@andybaker2456 25 күн бұрын
@kayyywild Don't get me wrong mate, I liked Bhaktapur, I just preferred Patan! 😄 It felt like more of a "locals" area to me, whereas Bhaktapur has more tourist/souvenir shops and activities, such as places where you could rent traditional costumes to have your photo taken in, that sort of thing. It had that "come here and spend your money" feel to it, rather than the "come here, see how we live and enjoy our hospitality" vibe that I got from the Patan area. That said, I'd go back to either in a heartbeat if I could...and probably will! 😊
@unujhjjjjjjjjjjjjj
@unujhjjjjjjjjjjjjj 23 күн бұрын
Each city has its own vibe. Bhaktapur is ancientiest of them all, though. If you look closely, you will find ancient, unique, and more detailed arts there. Also, the cleanest of them all. Patan has more exotic Buddhist stupas and architecture. Nice walks, though. I still prefer walking around more old alleys of Bkt. Kathmandu is Kathmandu. ❤❤😊

Very less informative guide you’ve got. Nepals flag reflects the temple but two of its peaks are Hinduism and Buddhism. And the temple is not Indian, it’s the sikhar style developed by influence of mugal designs during mugal dynasty in ancient India. Also: the door frames are smaller not because ancient people are smaller or shorter. Newari home signify a symbolic offering of respect to the place where they dwell. It’s kind of giving respect to the shelter or the home where they live. Btw welcome to Nepal ❤

Other guides wouldn't have shown the deep alleys and hidden courtyards and temples for sure. Anyways making friends with local guys and traveling every corner of city is far more authentic experience than traveling with guide with time constraints
