When Indonesians ask a foreigner for a selfie or photograph together, it’s to tell their friends or others Indonesians that they were once visiting a popular place that is also known by foreigners. I remember when I was a kid…having a photograph with a bule/foreigner means that I have been in a well known place in Indonesia. Some Indonesians are just excited to know that the place they visited also known by foreigners. Another reason, maybe Indonesians are just too friendly, no private bubble 😂

You can explore traditional markets to see local life.
