My worst day in Manila was being in a gogo bar that got raided by the NBI (Stardust - it's last night of operation ever). I was just having beers with a mate but we were detained and our IDs were inspected plus a lot of questions. We'd done nothing wrong so we were released after about an hour. Another time me and a mate were held up by the cops in Burgos St for having open beers in our hands (not illegal) but they said it was and they got patrol cars to turn up and take us to the station. I told mate if we go to the station it will cost a mint. So we rolled up a couple of thousand peso notes and threw them into that dark police box opposite the 7/11. They were ok with that and let us go.
