I am Japanese, but since I have only been to Tokyo once, I really enjoyed this video. The 5-yen coin you picked up is called "goen-dama" in Japanese, and it has a very positive meaning in Japanese. When you happen to pick it up, it is considered to be very auspicious.

Welcome to Japan❤️ Tall buildings look very close, but in reality, they are surprisingly far away and difficult to reach. I had the exact same experience when I went to Tokyo Tower. Also, you're sadly missing out on that truck's delicious Japanese baked sweet potato‼︎ But I'm sure you would encounter other very delicious Japanese food and very cool things of Tokyo from now on.

Hi Chris and Gladys. Cath was in Japan for a wedding a few years back. She only spent a few days in Tokyo as travelled on to Sendai. Although she managed to do some visits to other areas she said her time there was too short but found it interesting and very different in many ways. We hope to return together so very interested in your Japan series. Love Gladys for her feelings towards the older generation. She is so right. Am sure you will enjoy Japan. Its fascinating, bizarre and beautiful. Thats Caths take anyway. ✌️ yeah watched to the end. 47+ mins 👌💯 Tokyo Tower

It’s my dream to go to Asia! It’s always been fascinating to me. It’s like another planet but still so similar. I live in Wisconsin and I’ve always been under the impression seniors get a discount everywhere. Haircuts, gym membership, the zoo, etc… I was surprised you guys were shocked by that. I saw on another travel channel that they keep garbage bins down to a minimum because it’s rude to eat while walking. Also it’s considered rude to talk while walking. Have a great time in Tokyo! Just got back from my first trip to Tokyo and it exceeded every expectation. Hanging out in Harajuku and Akihabara were the pinnacle of people watching. Nightlife in Shibuya was amazing and stumbling across various beautiful green spaces and shrines was otherworldly. Learning to navigate a place like Shinjuku station was wild for someone with little mass transit experience but man it was convenient. Enjoy the trip!
