Way to go Helen…rocking the van-life. Some milestones reached already…bike riding, toilet emptying (I was wanting to say evacuating, but didn’t) and op shop chandelier resistance …..well done. It’s just my opinion, but the plant looks like a “Feargal” or a “Fergus”. Keep on vanning.

@@GraemeCorbett oooh Fergus - I had a rabbit called Fergus when I was a kids. Named after a boy I liked. So chandelier resistance is an ongoing process. Trying to stay strong.

Hi Helen, just joined you on your van journey, if it's OK could ii ask a question ?...... here goes what made you come to the decision of starting van life ?.... love your journey 😊
@helenwheels44445 ай бұрын
@@lorrainehenry6225 hey!! So nice of you to join and yes of course please ask questioned any time. This van and this trip came about in a really interesting way. I bought a little very cheap van in Australia (where I’m from) a few years ago, really for a different purpose but I found I was able to take trips in it that I would never have done otherwise. And loved it. Having the van for “accomodation” meant I could go anywhere, without deadlines for hotels or specific places, so it gave me a lot more freedom to explore whatever interested me. So having a van in Europe means I can explore here much more easily too and stop to spend time In Interesting places with interesting people. I also had some holiday time up my sleeve and for a variety of reasons I figured it’s better to take this time to do this now while I’m relatively young and fit and mobile. So when I started enquiring about buying a van in Europe, everything fell into place very quickly and suddenly I found myself taking a gap year at 54 years old!!!

Van with living quarters to get anywhere at anytime, AND then a bike to explore nearby areas has to be the ultimate freedom. You planned this really well :D Video is uploaded in 360p though, but maybe that's what the camera can handle?
@helenwheels44445 ай бұрын
Yeah I’m pretty stoked with my set up! I got great advice from “Away with the Steiners” - I’ll have to work out how to credit them properly. Tell me about the 360p. Is it viewing bad quality. That shouldn’t be the case.
@hyperboxing5 ай бұрын
@@helenwheels4444 Well 360p is 640x360 resolution, normal screens today are 1920x1080 (1080p) or more (since there's also 4k- 8k-screens, ultrawide and all that). But the normalized resolution still for KZbin as a minimum is 1080p, so essentially your videos are really low quality, graphics wise. Someone watching in fullscreen on 1920x1080, and your video being 640x360 means it'll be upscaled and even more blurry. A lot of technical mumbo-jumbo maybe but the reason I initially asked was just to check if it was intentional, or by accident. You should check if your camera can do atleast 1920x1080, it'll be better for the channel overall for sure :) .. Don't take it as a complaint per se, I'm just trying to look out for you, I want your channel to be successful so I can follow it for YEEEEEARS :D
@helenwheels44445 ай бұрын
@hyperboxing thanks. I believed I was filming in 1080p and uploading in that same resolution so I’m not quite sure what’s happened. Really glad you pointed it out so I can look into. I appreciate it.
@hyperboxing5 ай бұрын
@@helenwheels4444 I realized I forgot one thing; it might be that you're recording in 1080p or higher, but after you're done, your editing program might be set to render the file in 360p. Anywho I'll not drag this out, just looking out :D
@helenwheels44445 ай бұрын
@@hyperboxing this is great, it Must be something like that. I’m sure the project in Final Cut is being created at 1080p so I think you might be onto something there about the uploading. I’ll poke around and see if I can work it out. Maybe you can help me further if I can’t work it out. I’ll be posting another video shortly so I’ll have the chance to look into it. I really appreciate you help. Thank you.
