Fuck ya that was awesome and fun to watch. Super stoked for you. Second row to second before the end of lap one was impressive. I have to ask you Max, how much of your improved performance this year (after 17 years), is due to taking a step back from racing, doing the media and follow cam and just watching the best guys in the sport do their thing and learning? And I’ll tell you something I didn’t know during my moto career but learned during the truck racing. Once I knew I could win, it got a lot easier and I won a lot. You can win and now you know it. It’s also rad to see the fan response. There’s no doubt you’ve built a following and fan base because of the media and max cam and that’s cool to see. You quit being a racer only to become a better racer.

Couldn’t have said it better myself Rob. Taking a step back from racing is one of the best things I’ve done for my career. I’ve learned so much from observing the sport from a different perspective. I’m also more motivated and excited to have fun for the races which is important for me. And yep, now that I got that monkey off my back I can’t wait to go for more.
