The medal is the British War Medal issued to those who served anytime in WW1. Most common WW1 sets are this and the Victory medal. Those who served from 1914 right through the war were also issued with the 1914/15 star.....pretty rare for obvious and sad reasons. The three together are known colloquially as "Pip", "Squeak" and "Wilfred" after characters from a comic strip of the time.

FYI.. some japanese swords (katana) hidden within their scabbards.. there is a removable long wooden coin tray for square/oblong coins.. That coin is a nice find.

Some very nice things from chards. As I laughed when you said you got on the wrong train I think it's only fare I confess my train mistake. I was visiting a friend who lived in York unfortunately I fell asleep missed my stop and ended up in Scarborough. I was so embarrassed I told my friend that I had missed the train I did confess years later 🚉😊🙄🚂

Fantastic day out and the 2 coins the you purchased were stunnig relics of history. And wow, the Chards coins are amazing. The old half penny in 2 tone gold/silver is a stunner along with the enameled coins too. Cracking video once again. Brilliant.

The 10 pounds coin is the biggest coin that I've ever come across ! The design looks so grand ! Totally loved the animal themed coins and the enameled ones. They are so lovely. Amazing, amazing video !

look at the edge of the medal there maybe a name engraved on the edge aswell as a the soldiers rank and serial number , i have a medal like it was my great grand fathers says his name rank serial number and regiment on the edge of it

Liked the Japanese silver token. I believe they were kept inside the handle of a samurai sword. Worth researching maybe.

Pleasure 2 watch as always. Informative as always. Will look at chards thanx 4 showing what lovely gifts they sent u. The marble pound and shilling pendants were soooooo pretty cant help but feeling a little jealous of those. Plus am not a medal collector but if I had 1 like that from 1st wrd war I would consider myself very lucky and would treasure it 4 ever.

Nice Mughal rupee. It's an area I actively collect and for one in that condition that's about the right price. The mint is just to the left of the loop like device on the reverse (difficult to tell which if you can't read the script) and although a bit worn it does indeed look like Patna - one of the bigger and long lasting mints sited to the north east of the country
