My first ever craft room tour

I finally jumped on the band wagon and recorded a look at my craft room. But I'll be moving soon to the basement. I'll have some "new to me" furniture along with some of the old!

Good Afternoon from Iowa! This is my first time viewing your channel. I enjoyed your craft room tour very much. I use to scrapbook but have been making cards, box envelopes and now gift boxes for my intricate cards for the last 8 years. I used to have my craft room in our unfinished basement. But it was just too cold to work down there in the fall and winter and early spring. When our youngest son moved out my husband suggested making that empty bedroom my craft room. He bought me new storage furniture and put it together for me. He painted the room the color I chose, put up a new curtain rod and new curtains and changed out the lighting for me. He has been buying me new craft supplies every month ever since. He loves the cards that I make and has fully supported my crafting. Making cards and gift boxes are a ministry the Lord has given to me to bring encouragement and love to friends, family and acquaintances. My husband and I stay very active in our church too. My husband has taught Sunday school for a very long time and is currently teaching the young men’s class. I teach the ladies class and sing with our praise team most Sundays. I have been singing for Jesus ever since I was 13 or 14 years old. I used to be in a Southern Gospel quartet in my teenage years. I can’t read music other than sight reading. But if I can hear it I can sing it. I also sing with our choir when we do contadas when we do them. We hadn’t done any for about three years now. We all wanted to do an Easter Contada this year. I used to be a Team Kid leader on Wednesday nights. But since I took on teaching Bible Study for our ladies class I just really couldn’t do both. I have taught Mission Friends many years ago and taught children’s Sunday school as well. I love serving our precious Lord in the work that He has called us to do. I also study the Bible in my craft room. Mine isn’t near as large as your room. But for now it works and serves me well. I have many of the Stampin Up Ink Pads and refills for each of them and a few of the alcohol markers. But I’m not really a big fan of their stamps and papers. I use Heartfelt Creations collections of paper, stamps and dies. I have been buying their products for about 8 years now. They are located in Goshen, Indiana and is a Christian run company. The family that owns it use to be Amish. They give a certain amount of their proceeds to build homes in poverty stricken areas in Mexico. If you have never heard of Heartfelt Creations you might like to give them a look see. Their collections are gorgeous. They also have 100 pound flower shaping card stock. I use it all the time to make my own flowers and leaves. They have many flower stamps and dies. I really love their company and took a tour of it back in 2016. My husband took me there in 2016 for my birthday. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this. I know it got rather long. TFS.. I look fwd to seeing your new space too.. I enjoyed seeing a room with such personal touches.. sometimes when I see those great craft room tour videos that look so professional & pricey.. I get discouraged, and turn to something else. I am ion a fixed income because of a disability causing injury.. So while it is cool to see those rooms.. I am not in a position to buy many of their recommendations.. I love the way you incorporated areas for your younger crafters too.. Sounds like a fun family you have! Some of the elementary schools have the pressing cutting die machine tool. The BIGz Dies are perfect for their pressing machines.

Your video was awesome. I really like how you incorporate pieces from everywhere. I do that too mostly from fb marketplace. Your grandmother's hutch is gorgeous. I have a big old armoire I painted with chalk paint and it turned out really nice. It didn't require a primer and the finish is smooth and very durable. Can't wait to see your move video. I use bigz sometimes when I find them reasonable. I cut things for seniors in nursing homes and retirement homes to put together cards and projects, so pick up things when they aren’t retail. Let us know if you are selling them

You could use the ikea bag dispensers to store your vinyl rolls. Easier to see the colours you have. Could colour organise them

That drawer unit, like ikeas Alex, do the drawers slide all the way so you can see what’s in the back?

I did put the stoppers in but they do pull out far enough to see what's back there. With them being so shallow, I haven't had an issue with that. I really have been pleased with them.

Wow 18 years of craft supplies is a lot. Good luck with your move I’m sure it will look fantastic when done. I only have a corner space in a room and my craft supplies are overflowing so unfortunately do not have any tips.

@donnad8361 Yes, this hobby is my therapy. I started in a scrapbooking class at church called God's Good Gifts many years ago when my husband was deployed. And it's still therapeutic for me. Apparently I needed lots of therapy LOL
