Helix Pants - www.revolutionrace.fi/miehet/...
In my opinion - the most badass pants ever. These have all the features one needs for outdoor adventures in the autumn, winter, and spring! The waterproof and windproof outer shell makes sure of this!
Sherpa Hoodie - www.revolutionrace.fi/miehet/...
A.K.A - The Bear. My absolute favorite piece of clothing I own at the moment! It's warm and cozy with a big hood and some really handy pockets.
Ribbed Patch Beanie - www.revolutionrace.fi/asustee...
This is a really stylish and functional beanie. And as someone with a big head, this is a hat that actually fits me, which makes a nice change! The fabric doubles over at the ears keeping them warm and toasty!
Outdoor Parka - www.revolutionrace.fi/miehet/...
A.K.A. The beast! One jacket to rule them all! With a temperature rating down to -20 degrees, this is a big jacket that will take everything the Finnish winter can throw at it and more!

Hammoc camping has a small learning curve into it. (You had totally wrong tarp for it) Get a real tarp, like DD 3x3 meters, and put it at diamond shape. Or DD 3x4,5 and put that like you put yours in this video. And then buy a good underquilt to go with that set, and you are good to go. And after those things, learn some basic knots. Or, actually learn those knots before trying hammock camping again 😉

Adding to the comments about proper tarp and underquilt. You need a proper hammock as well, usually they are a bit small for tall people you should find yourself 11ft(3.3m) version
@iirouotila6455
@iirouotila6455 Жыл бұрын
with airmattress in hammock it helps that you do not fill it to the very brim. that way it conforms to your shape. 😊 . And yes diamond setup for the tarp gives more cover against the rain even if the tarp is not the largest. but 3mx3m works well.

Kudos with the tarp! I have been using the cheapest one for years. It doesn't look cool but it serves it's function. Sometimes I get laughed at using the tarp like that but I don't mind. They spend money on something which I don't need.

It is a lot of hassle but if you place one tent on top of another one it makes really good insulating layer in between them. That way you can get some more use out of broken tent.

There's only one thing to remember: there is no rights or wrongs, only what works for you! The problem with a regular sleeping pad in a hammock in my experience is that they are quite narrow. At least I always get cold around my shoulders. And as you said the sleeping pad has a habit to move around. An underquilt is one solution to the problem. If you don't want to invest in an underquilt, a big (150x200cm or bigger) thick wool or fleece blanket can be used instead. Just fold it in half and use it as a "sleeping pad". I always use a blanket at home when I sleep on my balcony, down to about -10C. The packing size of a blanket is a minus, but you probably already have one to try with. The tarp you are using should be big enough, it looks like a 2x3m, you just have to try to adjust it better. Just try to cover all of the hammock, not the ropes. And if you can lower the tarp on both ends it can give better coverage. You could also try to set up the tarp in a "diamond" shape.

I might be wrong, but you should actually sleep in your underwear + longsleeve shirt (to keep your shoulders warm, just in case) in your sleeping bag, because your bodyheat will keep you warmer, than clothes on you. The problem at this point is that you sleep in a hammock... So how would you plan to put on your clothes back at the morning? Smush all your clothes into the feet end of the sleeping bag and put them on before getting up? Some Partiolainen once told me to sleep naked in your bag to keep yourself warm, so... that might have been a lie or actual good advice.
