Peter content is always awesome but been looking back at old videos and one thing i noticed is since you have switched your putting grip your not as consistent. What lead to the change in the first place?

Brian Smith not saying it is shit but personally I have seen in the videos the putts longer than say 10 feet he made more consistently or was closer than he does using the “claw” grip.

A psychologist once emailed me about how I talk to myself in my mountain bike videos when I'm trying to do something hard. She observed that I'd always use my name and talk to myself directly when I was upset with what I was doing and that would only exacerbate my negative mindset. I've since been way nicer to myself and it improved my mentality while riding....and also playing golf! You seem to be disappointed with most of the outcomes here, but I wonder what would happen if you gave yourself a pat on the back. 🙂
@matthewb82294 жыл бұрын
I did the exact same thing! Changed my comments to myself from what I did wrong, to what I did right. Also, I focused on where TO hit my ball (a safe shot), instead of where not to (i.e. the hazard). My game didn't improve very much stroke-wise, but my enjoyment sky rocketed.

Only played my first ever 18 holes in July and shot my best round ever yesterday of 95, sounds silly but the fact I had so many awful putts and chips but came away with my best ever score is actually making me so positive that I can improve so much in not a long time. Golf has grabbed me during lockdown and not letting go. Currently not handicapped but we will get there soon!

Very impressive Pete. I can only imagine that filming for the channel which is much appreciated for the great content doesn't help your game much. So I am pretty sure being able to focus completely on every shot without having to worry about camera angles and everything else that goes into making great videos would certainly lower your handicap even more. I absolutely love your channel and in my opinion you have the best golf you tube channel out there. Good luck in all your future rounds of golf my friend.

I did this Peter. I stopped playing golf back in 2003 and remained as a pro up until 2016 when I gained my amateur status back. Picked up my old T/made RAC’s and joined a Alton GC in Hants. (Braid designed course). My 1st handicap again was 7. I’m now Ping iBlade fitted & exact is 4.4 in post lockdown 2020. Aiming for 3 or below by 2022.
@colinwallace20854 жыл бұрын
If you were filming yourself then that takes away a percentage of focus that most of us can utilise when scoring for a handicap. That plus your negative mental state adds up to a lot of shots, so don't beat yourself up mate😍🥰

Enjoyed that Pete. Fair play for putting yourself in the open like that. You didn't seem to get any putts to drop and looks like it was just the lack of local knowledge on the greens. Its a massive advantage to know where on a green to play towards to leave ourselves the best chance of a birdie putt which you didn't have on a course you don't play week in week out so to get those scores deffo deserves some credit.

You hit driver off the deck more than anyone I've ever seen! Is that something to would actually do in tournament play, or more of a KZbin style of play, Mr. Peter Finch? Either way is incredible! You are looking well Peter. I hope that is a result of better sleep. We all try to shoot as low as we can on any given day. It's when our self-esteem is based on how well we do that the pressure builds and is a negative force upon our performance. There is no place for ego on the golf course, it generally humbles us all on most days. BTW I am a 25 or thereabout and play for the exercise, relaxation, and camaraderie.

Great Video. I started 2020 under the new WHS as just under a 15. After a fair amount of practice, lessons, and of course a lot of rounds, I ended at 7.6. The lowest for the year was just 7.3. The 8 out of your last 20 sure factors. At one point 6 of my best 8 were in my last 10 rounds. So a string of great play sure helped. Then when that fell off, I had a buffer to find it again! Personal best btw is +5 from the tips. Cheers!
