Hi Jack! Wonderful introductory vlog about Brunei. If you don't mind, I would like to share some more infos about Brunei. 1. The sultan is not the Education Minister but he is the Defense Minister. 2. Overseas education scholarships are free too if you achieve the required qualifications. 3. We pay zero income tax. 4. Free medical. You pay a dollar to see a doctor for treatment and medicines. If the treatment is not available in Brunei, the government will send you overseas fully subsidized for you and a family member to accompany you. 5. Bandarku Ceria on Sundays is a must. 6. Shariah Law is practiced by countries in Middle East for decades. Since it's implementation here, no one has been amputated or stoned. The complexity of punishing some with Shariah Law is not simple, so Civil Law is still very much impossed. 7. As you can see we live a very simple life. There's no strict rules on clothing as long as you dress appropriately and show respect to others. 8. Bruneians will always go out of their way to help you. Don't be afraid to ask. 9. Going on a guided tour is a good choice and I would recommend it to others. 10. I hope you had a chance to visit Temburong too and explore our jungle. Safe travels!

The high obesity rate is partly because of the diet, but also due to the laziness and the lack of safe pavement and crossings for pedestrians and people who love walking especially outside the city center. Just imagine, Bruneians go out of their houses, start the car engine, drive to a convenience store like 200 meters away, park really really close to the shop's entrance and then shop. If it happens to be your lazy day, the shopping activity could be the most active you will be in that day. Wow, that can easily gain you 400 steps. Just how much potential calories Bruneians can actually burn if we were just be more active and be given proper infrastructure to be more active than today. Lastly, Bruneians especially motorists and their passengers, staring at pedestrians walking BY CHOICE is not really helping. Some are even staring like the person walking is insane walking underneath the hot sun and even gossip whose sons are these, where are the parents?? I miss the norm in developed countries where the motorists would just mind their own business and the pedestrians would also just mind theirs.

@EMAKael6 ай бұрын
I'm Bruneian and uhh our minimum wage is actually $450-$500 per month and that's just recently since the sultan ruled that minimum salary for private sectors must start at $500/month though some employers still pay their employees $300/month, sadly. but yeah, those who work private sectors especially in the fnb industries start at $450/month.
