Hi Chris, a Bruneian here. Thank you for bringing your always positive perspective in the visit to Brunei. Indeed Brunei is not like Dubai or other rapidly growing metropolitan countries but we are proud of our culture, heritage and way of living. Thank you for being so respectful and kind. Wishing you the best and we hope to see you again. And if you do decide to visit again, let us know early :)

Hi Chris. Local here. First of all welcome to our humble country. Secondly i feel really bad because i never get to stumble upon you i swear if i were around id would definitely give assistance and tour you around. The thing about Brunei is you have to know someone to fully experience Brunei. Trust me people would take you to their homes, take you to dinner etc😂 also yes Brunei can be very quiet if you come at the wrong timing most would be in school, work etc. id suggest you to have a guide next time. Alsoooo please come back during Eid! Its the best time to be around! Now that Bruneian familiar with you. High chances Brunei would def be eager and enthusiastic to give you the best visit. Might aswell be your second home. Us here are very friendly altho not all can speak english but theyre all friendly and helpful. Another note appreciate you embrace the simplicity, difference here. As for that, would love to thank you

Wow! I had it all wrong at fist about that local water taxi driver man. When I first heard you said he was to charge $40 for the trip, I thought that was steep but rightfully so too. What I didn't know was he meant that it was a package deal for 2 hours! That's insanely cheap actually! And that man there could handle himself in a conversation with a foreigner using a foreign language. Mad respect to him

Our wettest months are usually July, but the rest of the year it's usually hot and sunny. I've never lived Kg Ayer but I have relatives who do and we mostly visit and stay with them during school holidays. But, most have moved inland so no chance of that anymore. If you want to experience staying there, try booking a room at Kunyit 7 Lodge. The host is a good friend of mine and she is a walking history book about Kg Ayer 😊

I would love to relocate to Brunei with my family (girlfriend and our 5 year old daughter). Can someone shed some light on the process and if it is easy to stay there? Can I get a temporary residence permit if I buy a house / apartment in Brunei? We are from Portugal.
@TibbyIbrahim Жыл бұрын
You should probably need a working visa if you want to stay here. And can only rent a house/apartment. But i might be wrong. So best probably ask our embassy
