@@discodan6671 you can make it, everyone can, just go into your asian mart and grab PLAIN agar powder (don't get the flavored one), go back home duh, read the label on the agar powder to know how much liquid needed for the jelly, make some sweetened coffee, make it a bit sweeter because it'll taste better, drop the agar powder, cook it again until it bubbles and let it chill while still stirring if there're skims and bubbles to get rid of them, store it in tupperware after it cools a bit (usually it's 10 minutes). Refrigerate. Cut into any shape you want, or even better, use cheese grater, trust me. Make your other coffee iced and creamed, drop in the jelly, voila. Also, you can use your bad tasting coffee here, because it's sweet and bad coffee taste better when it's sweetened. Everything you said is really spot on. I have been living in Japan for a little over a year. I get excited when I find that one rare trash can out in public. The summer here is so hot. Stepping outside I'm already trenching in my sweat while the Japanese people aren't sweating much. Then one thing I struggle to this day is the language barrier, sometimes I don't go to any restaurants because I don't know the language much and then there's making conversations with the Japanese people out in the streets or at the club. I have to pull out the google translator and try to communicate. I do like how friendly the people are over here. So far Japan is nice but once you start living here you get that culture shock and see the real Japan more than what you see on youtube and hear about, especially when you live more towards the west of Japan.

Hmm... it has nothing to do with "land of the rising sun"- if you know about time and time zones, you know that we arbitrarily assign time to certain times of the day, right? The reason why the sunrise is so early is because of Japan's time zone- it's abnormally behind compared to the natural sun position to time mapping that the world uses (aka solar time). In Tibet, the opposite occurs, sunrise happens very late because it is very far ahead of the solar time compared to its UTC +8 time zone. In fact, Japan should be around UTC +10 at it's current longtitude, not UTC +9, and Tibet should be around UTC +6, not UTC +8.

I did a study aboard program in Hachioji Japan, like a hour from Tokyo by trian and everything you said in the video Made me reminisce about my time there and how I had to learn about the trash system, picking my favorite cobini Which happened to be the 711 cause it was by my school and even using my train card(mine was Pasmo) I even use the card to pay for some of my school lunches. It was such a great experience And I really cherish the time I was there ( September 25th to December 14th, 2018) It was so freaking hot when we got there and didn't really start to get cold until the end of October. By then I was freezing if I stayed late at school and went home at night. I only experienced a little bit of rain. I hope they open the country backup again Because I always had the plan to go back and visit and do the things I never got to do.

I live in a dry tropical climate and went to Japan during the summer. According to my weather app it said that Japan had the exact same temperature as my country at the time, so I thought I could handle the heat there... I was never so wrong in my life XD (Japan may have the same temperature as my dry tropical country, but their humidity is no joke! I was walking around Tokyo like a sweaty potato with my hair sticking to my face and my makeup literally melting- Meanwhile the Japanese women there looked so effortless, fashionable and always smelled like flowers) ; - ;

I've been in Tokyo for 2 weeks so far for a year of study abroad, and I have very quickly realized that I will feel severely underdressed anytime I decide to go outside
@jackgamesjack_yt_62672 жыл бұрын
Thats because of all the business men and women, they all have to wear suits for their jobs its insane like the trains at 6am it looked like a bunch of clones
@brianhsly Жыл бұрын
@@jackgamesjack_yt_6267 That's not what I noticed when moving back to the US from Japan. Fashion, and just clothing in general seems to be a larger part of Japanese culture. I developed a new sense of style while I was living there, and then when I came back, it was VERY difficult to maintain it without spending way more money than I wanted to. Successful clothing stores sell their stock based on the fashion culture of their customers, and as my clothes from Japan have worn out over time, I've been forced to tone down the level of dress in my everyday wear.

I like how in most Asian countries, we use the umbrella on a hot sunny day just to have shade and protection from the sun and then here in America, no one else does this. I used to remember bringing an umbrella to school during hot sunny days then my American classmates kept asking why and making fun of me for bringing them so I stopped because that made me stand out so much whenever I’m going to school even though it was very common thing to do in my Filipino school. Tbh I thought everyone in the world knew this as a common sense to bring shade with you but no. Although I might bring back that habit just to not suffer under the sun again and if anyone makes fun of me for it, I’ll tell them how dumb they are for not doing such things in the first place.

I from the American South and still live here. I am honestly going to start doing this-I think it’s brilliant! We have some Japanese families in my neighborhood, and the women look so pretty with parasols and big sun hats. It really does make sense for comfort and skin protection
@mr.generalissimo56782 жыл бұрын
Humorously enough, the West actually used to do this, especially those of the upper classes. There is a reason why the classic image of the Southern belle has her with an umbrella (to be more specific, a parasol). IIRC, it was also pretty popular with upper class Victorian-era women as well.

I'm from Japan, so I know what it's like- but I don't get why America doesn't do this. Like, even the TOILETS in Japan are more technological than the world. But MAN do I miss the sound of cicadas in Japan. It's annoying, but I loved it. If you're Japanese and lived in Japan for MANY years, it's easy to miss it. Japan is CLEAN. Don't throw ANY trash in the side walk. Also, in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, kids are cleaning their classrooms and halls AND serving lunch. In groups. AND YOU NEVER GET FAT (unless you over eat). And lunches in schools (and outside) are SO HEALTHY- like, America serves pizza and corn dogs but in Japan they give out GOOD veggies, soup, meat, sometimes fish, and EVEN MORE YUMMY HEALTHY STUFF. Like, it's INSANE. But I get the "walk right" part. I sometimes accidentally block people in both Japan and America. Oh yeah, and there's TONS of earthquakes, typhoons (tornado/hurricane) and stuff.

Just hearing you talk about Japan makes me half-miss teaching them. They, especially the elderly, are what I would call - communication deprived. Or that they really want someone to talk to. What you say about NPCs are true, because whenever they talk about their simple life, it’s really adorable and wistful in a way.

Not sure but the escalator thing feels like it depends on where it is and how wide it is. Some places in NYC, you lived here if I remember correctly, have a similar etiquette of moving to either side to let those who want to climb up or down. There are also stairs for those willing to walk up or down manually instead.
@BlackTigr2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it definitely depends on the area because in North America, some areas I've been to, people know to keep to the right on escalators and moving sidewalks in case anyone wants to pass quickly on the left.
