Thanks for the kind words! I normally do a night time beamshots Short outdoors for each light and put it in a card, but your comment has made me realise this review was before I started doing that. I'll make sure to record one and link it together this week, hopefully that helps with the performance aspect you're looking for. :)

Thanks for the review. I've got the sofirn SC31 and If25a, had them about 3 years now. Both great lights, charging port flap is their main weakness. Both have lost the little tab that opens the flap. So i have to use a small screwdriver. But apart from that great torches for the money. Would recommend to anyone.

Glad you liked it! This light really gave me a good impression of Sofirn, though I'm not surprised the flap is a let down. Have you considered melting or gluing some new tab material onto the plug?

@@gearedforward No i don't think that gluing would work. It's not big a hassle to lift the flap with a screw driver. I don't want to risk melting it incase it damages the flap, I'm pretty sure that's a big part of it water resistant rating. At the price they sell them for i don't imagine there's any water repellent coating inside. I use them both almost daily and they've haven't let me down yet so can forgive the flap issue. 🤣 🤣 Just subscribed so look to more reviews 👍🏻

Thanks for showcasing some less mainstream torches. It would be useful to see some beam shots though. Producing light is the main feature of a torch and the beam profile is pretty important (certainly to anyone who watches detailed torch reviews on KZbin 😂). Thanks.

I'd like to feature a lot more brands and models more often, it's just hard financially at this point in the channel which is why I appreciate Sofirn giving me the chance with this light! I completely agree that beamshots can be very important when deciding a light. I can try to include some examples in future. My main concern with shots like that is that I film on my phone and don't really have much knowledge/experience to capture the light accurately like other channels. But since there's demand I'm willing to give it a shot!

Nice review! The magnetic tail cap is handy. Looks like the clip would work well on the brim of a cap.

Glad you liked it! Cap testing is part of my review process, between the clip, the small size, and large button I can confirm it works very well!

I bought this for $21.75 CDN without battery as I have a really good 18350 branded battery already from the site that is named after the prince of thieves in Baghdad. Since I have an external professional charger I probably won't be using the USB charging much but it's good it's there for a backup in case you are out and about. I bought it as a backpack light so I can have something decent to have in my backpack at all times. It's clearing customs now. I'll do a review on my tech site when it comes in as I have a lot of electronic instrumentation. I'd like to see a review of the IF23 with the side LED's and 4000lm spot light if you so choose.

Nice light...but, the bezel up carry makes it a no go for me.

@@gearedforwardWith what I do at times, the lens can get really dirty. So, I don't want the hassle of having to wash the light and I like for the light to be pointed away from me when I get it our...I don't have to reorient it in my hand.

Did you just get it and this is the case, or has it stopped working? If you just got it then it's worth making sure you removed all of the insulating film from the battery. If it still doesn't work then I recommend reaching out to Sofirn, they should make it right
