The first time I got it done by my beautician, I absolutely felt the product in my hair afterwards. After I did my first shampoo that all went away. It looked fabulous with superior body, shine , manageability & long lasting style, with intentional curls. It took about 3 hours @ the salon. I love the effect of keratin on my hair. Your hair looks beautiful.BTW your shampoo & conditioner should also be Sodium Chloride free to prolong the effects of the Keratin.I never needed to straighten my hair everyday for a few days. I only use the flat iron on wash days. My hair had great styling versatility & I was not boxed into a completely straight style.

I did mine but my hair keeps shredding . Like many long hair strands and short ones falling out. Pls tell me what other products do you use for styling after the keratin treatment ? Thanks in advance
@christinan6450 Жыл бұрын
@@abiolaadeyeye1903: sorry to hear about the shedding. As per my dermatologist Keratin treatments are not recommended for damaged hair. It does not fix damage, it only makes it look like it’s fixed. It can actually make damaged hair worse. It’s for ppl who want hair straight, frizz free, shiny, great body, faster dry time , softness & protection. It affects mainly the cuticle. Botox treatment doesn’t change your curl pattern & doesn’t contain potentially dangerous chemicals like formaldehyde. Chemicals like formalin, methylene glycol, etc are essentially formaldehyde by another name. Formaldehyde is the chemical that actually straightens the hair, not Keratin. Products other than Keratin blow outs or treatments are safe to use ( shampoos, conditioners , serums, etc) ordinary Keratin will fill in any spaces in the hairs cuticle to make it smooth &’ shiny. Botox is a superior conditioning agent & hair smoother, without any dangerous compounds. It’s much better for damaged hair, thin or fine hair. It provides excellent hydration, softness, shine, body, great slip, strength, elasticity & helps hair to remain frizz free. It lasts about 3 months. It seals in all the good ingredients of the formula & penetrates down to the cortex to help repair hair strengthen & protect it. If your hair is drastically damaged, a cut is the only sure fire way to get rid of severe damage. Botox can help prevent further damage depending on the cause. There are no bad fumes, skin or eye irritation. It makes curls really pop with shine & body & straightened styles look luxurious. Still must use sulphate, paraben, sodium chloride free hair products to maintain it as long as possible. Products containing Keratin & or silk work great in promoting the effects of the treatment., ( as long as you are not protein sensitive ) . In your case I would recommend that you get it done by a salon @ least for the first time, to get optimal benefits. If you recently got the Keratin treatment, you should consult your stylist about how long you must wait to get the botox hair treatment Knowing the type of hair you have : porosity, texture, it’s condition , your hair routine & any chemicals you have used, helps to determine the best products to maintain / promote a healthy head of hair n Hope this helps dear.

Wait you went I 450 degrees sis - do you wear your hair curly??
@christinan6450 Жыл бұрын
@@STP255 : yes , I know my hair well, so in some places IE, middle back, inner portions of my hair I used 450 degrees because it’s thicker & resistant in that location. I used 400-425 degrees everywhere else. I’ve never sustained any damage, likely bcuz the ingredients protected my hair.. I’ve had nothing but great results. I always wait until the product is completely out of my hair b4 applying again. When new growth gets thick again, I use a shampoo & conditioner that contains keratin & or silk to keep the cuticle smooth & protect from shedding.. I alternate between wearing my hair straight & curly. I have always had to manually curl my hair, even b4 the treatments. I have several distinctly different hair textures on my head ( a Chia Pet), lol. Although a Keratin blow out does permanently straighten my curl pattern, the new growth comes back normal. Botox does not remove the curl pattern, bcuz it’s not a straightener, but it elongates the hair fiber, making curls really pop !when you blow dry & flat iron it , the hair is silky straight. When you wash it your curls return without the usual deep shrinkage. Botox conditioner is best option for those who desire to retain their curls. Currently I use only botox conditioner & I love it.

A little tips for keratin treatment DIY-ers. I still put my hair up at night; just put it up in a pineapple ponytail loosely. No lines or dents. If you do have lines or dents, you can just go over them quickly with a flat iron anyway. Also, the keratin will slowly absorb into your hair each day you have it on. By the 3rd day, you will barely feel it on your hair (if you can stand it!). I've done this treatment many times and found that it's rare to have permanent lines in the hair. Great video and information!

I just did some research on which kind of flat iron is best for a BKT and it's saying titanium is best because it requires less passes because it heats the hair from the outside in, which makes for better sealing of the treatment, while ceramic heats from the inside out and would require more passes, making it more time consuming.

I decided to take and comb my hair in the formation of a wrap, like a silk wrap, and I got it tied down real good with a scarf, so I’m gonna see how this turns out probably in another day or so.

I've done mine at home and didn't bother using a brush to apply, I just dipped my gloved hands in it and rubbed it through then combed out extra. It went MUCH faster. Tip: 1. NEVER use ANY product with ***Sodium Chloride*** (which is most shampoos, so use the insanely expensive shampoos from this brand, Global Keratin/GK, or Coppola and know that just because a shampoo says "Keratin" on it doesn't mean it's for Keratin treated hair so check ingredients in EVERYTHING) and Sulfate, stay out of salt water pools and the ocean because it will break down the keratin. Again, check ALL hair products. Make sure you tell your stylist you have a keratin treatment and ask if they have shampoo for keratin treated hair. If not then bring your own. 2. Don't wash your hair everyday. Go as long as you can before you need to wash it. Less washing extends your treatment. 3. You should wait a week or two BEFORE you color your hair or wait a week or 2 AFTER you color it. I suggest a week before you color if you have gray hair to touch up. 3. For some reason, even if you follow instructions completely, it may strip hair dye from your hair. I've done it myself 5 times and it never did before, but the last 2 times I used the GK Best and it stripped my color. I went from brown to this blonde reddish orange color. It wasn't terrible, but that's another reason why I suggest doing it a week or two BEFORE dying your hair. Maybe the formula changed, but just giving a heads up. 4. If you feel ANY burning or tingling on your scalp during application or processing, wash it out immediately. 5. Different treatments have different instructions. Some say you can wash your hair the next day, but I say wait 72 hours and still follow the instructions of no hair bands, head bands, hats, tucking behind your ear, etc. If you sweat or it gets wet, do what she did and immediately go blow dry it and flat iron it. 6. It probably won't completely straighten your hair, but definitely will loosen the curls. She mentioned she may not like it and want her curls back. If that happens, just break it down by using regular shampoo with Sodium Chloride and it'll break through, the keratin will break down and you'll eventually be able to be curly again. 7. Highly suggest getting a blowout blow dryer, so much faster than a hand held and gives you volume. In humidity, you'll have to probably flat iron at least the roots.

Did you use any heat protectant when you touched up your hair on the days after the treatment? I’m nervous about using such high heat on my hair without heat protectant for several days 😵💫 Thank you so much for the amazing video!! This is the best one out there! I watched several times and made the decision to do it myself. I paid $420 to get a Brazilian Blowout, and the stylist rushed through it, didn’t follow all the steps, and i could feel her breaking my hair as she brushed it and her flat iron was snagging and breaking my hair 😔 I was left with a finished product that worked on half of my hair and didn’t work on the other half. I was so sad, because I had been so excited that I couldn’t even sleep the night before lol. Never again. I’m doing my treatment right now with the same product!! I’ve got the product in my hair and I’m waiting for 30 minutes as I type this 🥰
@savvy_17 ай бұрын
I only used the high heat on the first day. I reduced the heat after that. Since your hair has keratin in the hair, you’re not actually applying heat to bare hair. To me, it kind of acts like a barrier between the hair and the straightener. Thanks for your positive comment! 🥰❤️
@savvy_17 ай бұрын
Hi there. I currently use another keratin treatment and when speaking to the owner of the company who makes it, she said that I can use a heat protectant so I assume that may be possible with other brands. I’ll try adding a heat protectant the next time that I complete the process to see if it will work. Just wanted to come back to pass along this new information. 🤗

I use this product and love it. It did slow down the time of my grays returning, which is my number one reason of loving this product. I did a treatment for the 1st time in September of last year and am getting ready to do another one really soon. We have similar hair textures, my curls did loosen, but I don't wear my hair curly that much any more. I hope you still like the results.

Girl, I'd be watching TV too 😂 I'm actually watching you as I open and assemble my son's new high chair 😂 He's six months old and watches KZbin videos with me sometimes. I've been considering going back to keratin treatments, as wearing my natural hair is actually becoming more expensive and time consuming than when I used to chemically straighten my hair (I used to relax, but then I stopped and switched to BKTs when I was trying to grow out my natural hair without having to cut more than an inch off my ends). I found that I go through more conditioner and other products when I wear it curly than straight, thus leading to being more broke more often lol.
