I recently got a keratin treatment. It’s a game changer. My hair was very difficult to maintain and would shed a lot. With the treatment there’s very little to no shedding. Wash day takes half the time. My hair morning routine takes just a few minutes. My hair is healthier and stronger. I’m sticking with this system.

I'm a licensed Cosmetologist and I specialize in Keratin treatments. Many don't know that there are different levels of keratin treatments. Fir customers wanting to keep curl they need a stylist who uses a treatment that is formulated for a textured process. They generally include a mask that is applied after curing the hair. Also, the desired curl pattern and weight needs to be encouraged using a method that is best for the desired result. A diffuser will always be necessary to cure the pattern prior to rinsing. It is important to follow manufacturers instructions because there are so many types of this product and they all have a step that varies and must be followed exactly to achieve a stable outcome. This video was very informative. Thank you for sharing.
@sevenzenhair67
@sevenzenhair67 8 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. I wouldn't say there are levels of keratin but as you know with manufacturing instructions there are different ways to apply and process. I speak with the creator of this brand and with this product you can do it with wet hair and/or sit them under the dryer and only do one/two pass with iron if you don't want a full process or if the hair is coarser or client wants to lose curl you can apply on dry hair and process a little longer. I have tried ones for curly hair and to be honest the two have tried either dont work or leave the hair dry. Actually applying proper heat to activate and seals helps remove so much frizz from the curls still allowing them to wear curly hair instead of straight.

This was the best video about the Keratin treatment on type 4 hair. I too was wondering about how the hair behaves when you want to wear it as a wash n go. It’s beautiful and I am happy to see that you still have the versatility to still wear your hair curly as I do enjoy still having my curls. Just want more manageability. Thank you!

Completely agree! I have a mix of 3C/4A hair, which is manageable but because of how easily it tangled, I really never wear it down. Because Keratin treatments wear off, this seems like it would be a great way to get looser curls without permanently changing my hair

You’re a real one! Thanks to you and your sister for demonstrating this. It’s so nice to see what the curls look like styled after the treatment because although there are a few videos on KZbin showing the keratin treatment on natural hair they only show the hair straightened after. I had to take a leap of faith when I did this myself and was researching because early last year my hair was at the awkward length and I was struggling to style it and very nearly relaxed/texlaxed it but didn’t want to destroy my curls or the commitment of relaxers. Well after trawling the net I came across keratin treatment. I’ve since done it twice and it’s been a game changer. My hair has been easier to manage. I have noticed my roots are a little thicker though and I’m looking into Botox for hair. It’s similar to the keratin but supposedly absolutely no formaldehyde, more natural.

That's why I liked keratin blowout. My hair doesn't get stick-straight from relaxers anyway but it recovered my curls a lot better after the Brazilian Blowout. My hair felt healthy and the looser curls didn't bother me. Mine went from spiral curls to my post-beach curl pattern (3b to a 3a/2c) and bounced back as the treatment wore off. And I had my hair bleached and dyed the same day so even with the extra processing beforehand it didn't kill my curls.

I've done the Keratin Treatment once before and I absolutely loved it. For reference the front of my hair is 3A, Middle 3B and back 3C. When I did it I was able to even out my hair texture and reduce a lot of frizz as I am always on the go. y hair was shiny, silky and I was able to retain more length because I wasn't constantly styling hair every day. I found my hair got a lot longer. However, I am a lifeguard and I work primarily with water. I have yet to do it again because I spend about 30 hours a week in chlorinated water and it just isn't practical for my lifestyle at the moment. I did notice that the Keratin helped my hair avoid chlorine damage initially but I do not have 3 consecutive days off to do the treatment again. I move cities and hopefully within a few months I'll be able to do it again.

This was a VERY informative video! Thanks for sharing. It seems that with the treatment and a wash and go, you’d have pretty much a day 1 WnG look for the duration of that style. Without the frizzy factor, will the hair keep the flat look and not get bigger and have more volume over several days of the wearing the WnG style? Also after a year later from treatment will the keratin completely be removed from the hair or would you need to cut the hair the completely remove the keratin?

I’m going down the rabbit hole on learning about this - I appreciate your video- very informative Only problem is you can never stop the treatments without devastating breakage - life on process - I’m not sure I want to go through that … Strong gels and creams seem to be my defense on frizz. Weekly shampoo, deep condition w/heat- wash and go with heavy product application. Hooded/blow dry to set. My hair lasts 1 week - I end the week in a high puff. I’m med- high porosity, 4a/3c, highly dense hair.

I learned the hard way that you can’t stop the treatments 😩 as soon as new growth comes in curly it will need to be treated as well. When I stopped going for the touch ups a lot of the length had to be cut because it was so straight causing it to tangle, shed , and overall become unmanageable because of the 2 different textures I had going on. You and I have the same hair type by the way and mine also gets pretty dry. This may not be everyone’s experience with keratin but it sure was mine. While the treatment was maintained my hair was beautiful and very manageable but if you ever change your mind, you have been warned lol

Hi , thank you for this video. Very informative. I’ve been on my natural hair journey for about 5-6 years. I have only been wearing protective styles to accomplish my desired length. I believe it is where I would like it to be now. I want to try a silk press first, however, i don’t think my hair would remain straight for long, given that I sweat a lot at night due to menopause, and I am working out regularly now. Keratin treatment sounds like a great alternative.

@@sevenzenhair67 so i got it done in October and I absolutely loved the process and the outcome she did an amazing job but one thing i forgot from my relaxer days (been 3 years natural barely any heat and 4a/b hair i did this process because im postpartum and i dont have the time or energy to do my hair) is that my hair needs ‘topping up’, the treatment lasted me maybe two months and im not sure if its because my hair grows pretty fast or it was because i had a scalp reaction and started flaking again (another relaxer memory) so i used the as i am tea tree line which is the only thing that works for me, then went back to the GK shampoo and conditioner which is meant to be sulphate free and compliment keratin treated hair and my hair started to revert immediately. I now have straight hair with afro roots and im on my weight loss shxt so sweating through everyday which means more heat than ever. So overall i absolutely loved when i had fresh hair but its definitely something i have to keep on top of and hopefully after a few sessions my hair will be a lot easier to manage.

Thank you SO much for this detailed video! Your sisters natural texture looks nearly the same as mine and I LOVE that she still has wash-and-go curls after the keratin treatment. I live in Houston... super humid and I can never get a style to stay in place. Are there different ways of application to make sure curls are more likely to return? Such as leaving the product on for less time or something else?

Thank you for this wonderfully explained video! Can’t wait to see more videos on the full process! Can you do this Keratin treatment and still use your regular curly hair products? Can I use any shampoo, conditioner, mask/deep conditioner, leave in, gel, oil, etc. in between the keratin treatment? Can I use Olaplex or any bond building products in between treatments? Can I use Ayurvedic treatments and products with this treatment? I would like to avoid heat damage entirely. How often would you recommend that I get keratin treatments? What is the longest or maximum amount time you would suggest in-between keratin treatments? What products or practices can be used to extend the life of my keratin treatment?❤🫶🏽💆🏽‍♀️

Thank you so much for creating this video. I love my curls, but I have fine, high porosity, high density hair. It is so thick, and I spend so much time defanging because I can only use my fingers. Any type of denman brush or tangle teaser breaks my hair more than it helps, no matter how slow I go (and I detangle from ends to roots). I always have frizz, whether I use more high end products or drug store ones. My scalp is sensitive, so layering products always has me needing a wash two days later. I have been considering getting a keratin treatment, rather than going back to relaxers, because I actually do love my curls, I just wish they were more manageable. This makes me want to take the leap…

I’m so glad I found your video!! I just recently got this treatment… my stylist didn’t tell me the exact product she used but said it should last 6 months to a year.. now I wear tapered natural cuts and I have what I believe to be 4c coils.. if I get my sides trimmed down will I need to have the treatment reapplied to the shorter areas of my hair? Also, I will usually wet down my hair a couple times a week and reapply leave in conditioner and a style cream to keep my hair moisturized… should I continue doing this with the keratin treatment? Or will this wash off the keratin?
