Fantastic insight into the fan's view of the masters. You can feel the passion you have for the game and this wonderful tournament. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Hey Randy, stumbled across this while watching one of Peter Finch's vids. I was born and raised in Augusta and have been at least 30 times and have even had the privilege of playing the course after the tournament. (One of the benefits of working the 100 hours at the course Masters week) Each time I go I still have the same feelings as I did when I first went. Once you walk through the gate it is like you are transported to a new world, the hustle and bustle of Washington Rd. disappears. Glad you had the opportunity to experience it!

Nice intro and great verbal illustration of the experience. I have one friend that has been there and two things: elevation and how tightly spaced he also mentioned.

What an amazing way to spend those 22 minutes of my life. I don't know if I will ever get the chance to experience the Masters in person, but I got to relive it through your experience. Thank you so much. From an avid South African golf and fried eggs golf fan!!

Fantastic story! I had the pleasure a few years back of going to watch the Players. Was my first time at a big tournament, but like you, I will never forget it. My wife, not a big golf fan, indulged me as I geeked out walking around a course I felt like I knew well. We sat on 17 for about 3 hours watching players plunk balls into the water and such. Can't wait to go back again, and maybe someday go to a Major.

I've been every year for the last 17 years. It's great to hear your enthusiasm, I wish I could go back in time to my first masters. You can start to take it for granted, like being married to a supermodel i guess. Great video

My first trip was this year as well for the Tuesday practice round. We got there before the sun came up and were the first ones to the north gate, sat up our chairs on the 2nd row behind 16. The most awesome golf experience of my life. I also describe Augusta as a theme park for golfers.

Randy, I live in Augusta and I have been to The National several times. Your recount was spot on and in keeping with the standards set by Augusta National. The way you described the atmosphere, the grounds, the wind, and the crowd was so accurate that it gave me goose bumps as well. I am originally from Ohio but I have lived here for 9 years and consider Augusta my home. I am so proud of the way you described Augusta. Augustans are extremely proud of our course and take ownership of the experience people have while here. BTW, TBONZ is not the best steak in Augusta. Try Frog Hollow or Calvert's next time.
@kgriffith7 жыл бұрын
Bryce Klockenga Definitely have to agree! As a native Augustan, I can say that I rarely go to T-Bonz. It's not that great and is definitely more of a tourist trap during Masters week. Frog Hollow, Calverts, Oliviana, the list goes on... are all MUCH better!
