A haori is a short Japanese kimono style jacket worn open or cinched in with a belt. They were traditionally worn by men but now are also worn by women over kimono...so makes sense they renamed it. (From a nerdy collector of traditional Japanese silks!) Gorgeous make!

Love this jacket on you as always Mel, I think the proportions are great on you. Unsurprisingly I also love the pink/yellow combo!!. B-roll footage looks really pro too xxx

Thanks JayJay, I think I’m going to make the collar wide again as it makes it a little too big with a narrow collar, the contrast has grown on me ☺️ glad you liked the b roll, I need more time I see in daylight so that I can do some more xx

My favourite Wiksten was your first make, the pink boucle, just caught sight of you wearing it ironing in this video. I bought the pattern back then and still to make it up. You have done different fabrics and it shows how different a look is all being the same pattern.

Thanks Kate ☺️💖 the pink is my fave too. It’s my most worn garment of all time! Ooh do keep us posted when you make yours up

Such a great make Mel. Loved your blog post on your overalls too. You may want to try your edge stitch foot in addition to moving your needle for topstitching. Your me made tag is precious and I always look forward to seeing your flowers. 💕

I think the error with the taffeta being on the collar is a wonderful mistake. I would have never thought to put those colors together put it looks great! Do you have a video on the overalls you are wearing along with the fabric type and name? I love your sense of color combinations! Thanks for all you videos I always enjoy watching them!

Another great video, Mel! Love this version so much and I personally feel like the pink on the outside makes it even more special. Thank you for another inspiring video! PS: after seeing your picture on instagram I went straight to the fabric store and bought myself some linen with this jacket in mind :)

I'm really looking forward to doing this pattern! But I'm just wondering what size did you use/what size do you usually fit? And how much fabric did you use? I have about 2 metres of the fabric I want to use and I'm wondering if it'll be enough!

Thanks Janet I made the Xs, I think this one looks a little big as I’ve only colder the collar back a little rather than in half as it should be xx

Beautiful jacket but it looks a little big on you!
@HandmadeByDitsyTulip5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Elaine, I think it’s because I’ve only folded the collar back a little as I’ve made several versions in the same size and they fit fine, this one definitely feels bigger though so much be the collar
