Facts!!!!! To add to what @Fireflycbr said. I have been riding bikes for 40 yrs both track and street. Never ride above your skill set and comfort level especially on the street. You need to be aware of everything around you, keep you head on a swivel, ride defensively and never give in to peer pressure of other riders. You do you!!!!! Welcome to the 2-wheel family!

I started on a CBR600RR, sometimes I regretted going that route but it was a decent bike to start on. The reason for regret is more like, you don't experience the nimbleness of like a 300cc, you don't feel the difference between a 300 and a 600 which is a enjoyment itself. Than going from a 600 to a 1000 is another new world, which makes you appreciate the 600 on a different way. I got a WR450F supermoto when I had the CBR, the nimbleness is great and a new experience which makes this hobby so great. People say getting a 600cc and a year later a 1000 is a waste of money, but if you shop second hand you barely lose money if you keep it decent. I lost 50 euro's when I sold the CBR, but the rear tyre was bold and I laid it down twice at stopped speeds so I can't complain.

I hate how people speak about purchases like finances isn’t a thing. I started on a liter bike also because I couldn’t afford to the “starter bike” method. I knew the bike I wanted & I only lacked street experience. If you know the bike you want & don’t treat the road like a track, you’ll be fine. Just don’t forget motorcycle skill is perishable, so practice & once you think you’ve gotten good, practice more. The bike is only as safe as the rider. Keep your head on & the rubber down my friend

@@Scatterbro I can’t afford more than one motorcycle right now. Was I supposed to wait until I finally sold the little bike I didn’t want to begin with to buy another bike I also don’t want so I can finally ride my dream bike? It’s not like I want a turbo busa & im not saying people should buy h2s cause the want a liter bike. But, if you know from experience that you won’t be satisfied with smaller cc bikes why waste that money? I don’t have it like that. I could have spent $10k on a starter bike & id have spent half the money to own my liter bike. So it can be stupid in your opinion, but financially for a lot of people “beginner” bikes makes no sense cause most people can afford more than one bike. If I could, of course I’d have a smaller cc bike & I would train all my friends & associates on it, but all I could afford was my dream bike so now I ride a ‘21 fireblade & I don’t regret it a single bit no matter how stupid you think I am.

Oh nice, insane bike to start on, to draw a comparison a car would have to put down like 800hp just to get close to such a machine. Still these bikes are very manageable if you practice throttle control and brake control regularly as they brake hard and accelerate slowly (until you get past like 7000rpm) unless you launch them or go full throttle. Something I used to do was to brake harder and harder every time I got back close to my house like 30m from it, when I had a bike with no ABS I would also practice locking the rear as well on closed streets and such to know how that feels. The more you do that the more comfortable you'll become with your bike and it doesn't hurt, you're about to come home, break as hard as you think you can without activating abs and increase the pressure each ride. One thing also is when you get back to your house don't ride into the drive way right away, go past 10 m and do a U turn if possible, do it at the slowest speed (only clutch work no throttle) and try to do it as tight as you can. alternate between right and left side turns, it takes less than a minute to do all these things and they really help. Don't forget to do a tiny bit of counterweight when doing the slow speed u turns or else that whole 200kg bike will tip over if you're not used to it.
@MCLocsLife3 ай бұрын
O wow. Thanks for this tip. I typically got to an empty parking lot to practice slow turns and counterweight. 🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
@haste9533 ай бұрын
@@MCLocsLife Yeah man, I recently dropped my bike on a slow u turn literally slower than a snail and broke the right mirror because of it, I felt a cramp on my right leg coming and I pressed the front brake too hard and the bike was mid turn to the right so it ofc wanted to come to the right and guess what, my leg was cramping up and if my body had been doing counterweight I would've had more time to get comfortable and re center the handlebars. I had stopped practicing counterweight every since I got it. It's not even about getting better because these bikes have terrible turn radius anyways so you don't have to try too hard to go full lock but it's more about being conscious about it every time you do it. If you do this every single time you do a u turn slowly then the likelihood of you dropping your bike at that moment is 0. I had never dropped a bike before so you can imagine how annoying it was. As for the braking it's just a good thing to do, when you get home the brakes are nice and warm not stone cold, the tires are nice and warm so the conditions are perfect to try to practice harder and harder breaking.

Nice ride, 1000's are ok to start with but remember: Slow bikes make you ride fast, fast bikes make you go fast. Riding tip: Ride assertive through traffic. filter and assume people don't see you especially not when standing at a traffic light (imagine getting rear ended by that truck at @12:30 for example). Also place your bike in a visible and escapable position, which you're actually already doing, nice. Wear gear that at least protects your wrists and ankels. Fleshy wounds from a slide are full of dirt anyway haha. (i still ride full gear and airbag-vest). Be safe

My buddy as a new rider went to a dealer i wont mention in albany oregon. He tried to buy a cbr1000 for his first bike.. the dealer told us he refused to sell him that as his first bike, and said bluntly, go to a dealer that dosent care about your life😂

I'm sure there is more to that story. Sounds like the sales guy reads people really well and made a good call. Thanks for watching 🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿

What I've learned is we got way too many choices & if a bike gets thrown your way or mine, we can take it/make it work w/ the intent for whatever we need. The same is true about guns.... way too many but if ya throw one to a man he'll make it work to protect his family just so it fires. Just so the bike fires it too will be used to get done the job before it. I think it's that simple & BTW.... my 1st bike was a Kz1000. Long ago & it was a handful of bike ! Now I've not ridden in over 30 years & I'm looking for a starting bike. You did fine w/ the 1000. peace & be safe

KZ1000, that's what Ponch and Jon rode on CHiPs, very nice! Best wishes getting back into riding after your long absence.

No way, is that true? It's possible in HollyWeird but I thought Harley was the only road bikes. Now I gotta know.. lol, thanks man
@bwc19763 ай бұрын
@@diggy-d8w Yup, the CHP used the KZ900 and KZ1000 at the time of filming the show, and have used BMW's since then before going back to Harley Electra Glides. El Cajon PD near me also has some BMW's.

Learn something new everyday.... lol, I'm guessing you must live out there & a TV Show Buff? I'm older so I have seen all those as well but never noticed what they rode. And I still haven't looked it up.... I'm guilty. Take it easy >> peace

I was always told doesn’t really matter what you start on (for majority of people). Just take it easy until you’re comfortable with the bike. Bikes only as fast as you make it go. And don’t these 1k’s have different modes to? That’s also an option but i don’t think people be doing that 😂
@MCLocsLife3 ай бұрын
My bike does have 3 modes. I used the lower modes until I felt comfortable with "A" mode. Thanks for watching 🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿

Put that bike in B mode, turn up the tc, but most importantly, put some damn gear on. Buying a litre bike as your first is ridiculous, but riding without a jacket shows us exactly where your head is at. Good luck

@MCLocsLife Safety first, brutha. I've owned quite a few bikes, and the L7 isn't a joke. It's extremely underrated. With bolt ons and a tune, it's almost unbeatable 60-130. Just be careful, homie 👍🏿
