Smart choice going with a Japanese brand because I found with Kymco there are very few places that can gets parts in the USA. 2011 I bought a 2005 Kymco Grandvista 250cc scooter with 2600 miles. I sold it a couple of years ago with around 28K miles. I live in CA and rode it on the highway all the time. After break in don't be afraid to rev motor. I ran mine 80 to 100% throttle every time I went on the highway. 300 to 350cc makes a scooter a lot more versatile even on surface streets. It rides and handles much better than a 150cc.

I am definitely partial to the big 3 manufacturers for servicing and parts consideration! I agree on the versatility. Alot of people love 150s but the 300 class is my favorite for sure.

Great looking set up. It’s a shame the visor doesn’t fully lower. Does that cause extra wind noise? I think every motovlogger has to figure out their own audio sweet spot, especially with the external audio set-ups with the GoPros. I was told for my break in period to keep it under 60 for the first 300 miles, then change out the break-in synthetic oil. I … ahem, didn’t really follow those rules. Seeing nice blue skies, and no need to wear winter gear keeps hitting me as strange. Within 3 months that may be me as well. I took the BRC on a motorcycle too. No regrets, but I really love the freedom of twist and go. I may have said it before, but scooters are the Swiss Army knives of the 2-wheeled world. Shopping, Christmas shopping, commuting, camping, and more. I’m sure dual sport riders will disagree, but I’ve found a scooter can do a lot of things directly off the dealership floor (without accessories like a top case, or panniers) than a lot of MCs can.

About to post a video showcasing all the different set ups and results. Switching to an adhesive mount that allowed me to close the visor and windguard def made a big difference! If i could have only one bike in the world it would be a 300-400cc scooter. Not that i dont love a million other two wheelers but I have to have the scooter as my daily. I will probably be getting a Honda CT125 next and then a 500cc moto and then a Vespa. Atleast thats the dream/plan haha.

@@motohound90 Sounds like a plan. I think I may have discovered that the scooter dealership near me has a AK 550 in stock. If so, I may get it sooner than I anticipated since I excepted it to be ordered and ship to the US from over seas.

Never heard of that brand of mic but it sounds good! I am currently using a purple panda so I may have to check out that brand!

The Rode GO had the TRS connection that was compatible to plug straight into media mod so i went with it. I am very pleased with it!

If you liked the ADV150... but needed more power... then you would love the new ADV350 (available in Europe and in other parts of the world)! Again, it's a pitty that the US maxi-scooter market... sucks... big time!

I recommend wearing gloves when out riding, even low speed spills will result in you stretching out with yours hands. Tarmac is not kind on the hands.

I totally agree. If there is only one piece of gear that you are going to wear in addition to a helmet, it should be gloves. Losing some or all of the function of your hands is probably the worst scenario I can think of. I am nearly an ATGATT guy. Riders are free to choose. But please consider how you would faire if you low-sided in some gravel, or like my first get-off, found some transmission fluid as I rolled through a right hand turn in an intersection.

Roger that. I usually wear gloves but I was having a heck of a time operating the phone. I need to get a pair with fingertips made for phones!

@@motohound90 Here in France after much lobbying by the emergency health services, it was made compulsory to wear approved gloves when riding a motorbike. It's been law for 3 to 4 years now.
