It happens bro same exact thing happened to me in my 1st bjj competition now I'm a beast with straight ankle locks and heel hooks. My loss as a 28yr old to an 18yr old sparked an obsession with leglocks. After my loss I studied and drilled where I was lacking. I knew nothing about leglocks my until my1st competition😪😔🤦🏾‍♂️

Good match overall. One thing I will point out though, watch out for those collar ties, people get really aggressive with them. Also when you get side control, while he was attempting to tip you over, you can something called the hip switch, where you spin switch hips giving you a tighter side control. Good match though.

Great takedown! Just be careful not to let them get under you, keep your hips and legs back. You kind of stepped over him which allowed him an easier transition to single leg x. Good stuff though! A lot of people only post their wins, so mad respect for that.

Different levels beginner intermediate and advanced only straight ankle is allowed in the lower two but anything in advanced

Damn how much weight did you give up? He looks a lot bigger. Guy really didn't give you a chance to tap did he looked like he just torqued it hardcore, standup looked good keep those elbows in a little more and maybe look for some low single legs, you have the speed

Yeah it’s a Fuji tournament so they just put me with a guy in the next weight class up. Yeah he was definitely a little snazzy. Iv been working on my stand up a lot since then I’m definitely a lot more confident and better now.
