No longer brewed in UK, only lager brewed in the UK Guinness Brewery now. It just doesn't like the Irish Sea crossing, nor does Beamish or Murphy's.

Lots of myths about Guinness and the real difference is the speed of turnover in Ireland vs UK. So Irish tubs are always fresh and UK ones aren't. Simples.

Safe travels Ive just finished 800Nm to get her back to East coast. MS with 35Deg Wind on the bow for most of it so no stress, new hood and bimini are excellent job. first on my list. What tender do you have?

Hi Richie. Thanks for watching. I have a small Highfield UL240 tender and love it. It’s got a solid bottom so no risk of getting a puncture on a beach with sharp stones/rocks. Only downside is it’s a bit heavy for one person to drag it on a beach. Looks like you’ve done some miles too. Fair winds.

I thought so, there is a nice 240 in my local shop and thought it was teh same. Fancy teh 3d version though cheaper , lighter and more capacity..

Well done on your first ocean crossing! Wish I could've joined you for that well deserved Guinness! Q. Noticed your throttle lever was in neutral. Don't have a folding prop then?? Will make a difference to your boat speed.

I would have eased off the wind and done more tacking to maintain a mean course, a lot easier today with all that electronic navigation equipment, a lot harder when one only had a chart and bearings from marked points on land when sighted, relying on dead reckoning and known tides and direction and speed of currents, along with soundings as to depth and marked contours on the chart, aided with a noon sun angle with the sextant and direction, more approximate than accurate on a rolling and pitching boat trying to keep the horizon lined up, forget it if heavy/light overcast and sun not clearly visible. Always a good idea to keep in practice with for when the electronics go on the blink or crash.
