My First PPG Trike Flight.

Cold December day I took my Fly Products rider and flash cruiser trike to a local airfield. I am definitely overloaded and that caused a fair amount of oscillation. Still a good day in the air. New wing in the future! Fun times on the Paramotor.

I don't know why this just popped up on my videos to see 3 months late! Yes the oscillations are much more prevalent on a trike and the fix is kind of counter-intuitive to pull on the down side and hold and slowly let up. Curious where you are there, I got up not terribly far from Casar the last time I flew (see video with the water tower). I was close to Polkville. Guessing you were by Lake HIckory? That low by the water looked a bit scary to me! LOL I am more of a 1000' up kind of guy. Good seeing another video man, take care!

You know that if you throw that reserve to the side, it will flip you up side down right? Please check how the bridles go when you throw it.

I was watching your hands during oscillations. You could dampen that movement by applying right brake at the peak of oscillation to the right and vice-versa.

I gave it a go but it'll only worsened. I couldn't get the timing right unfortunately or it was just way to reactive for my skill level.

@@TheVanlander dampen small oscillations by giving both brakes a small pull/slow release, as you swing to center. A little more brake pressure during taxi also helps dampen the tendencies. I get airsick easily, your flight would have made me so green. Looks like a great area, hope to see more of it as it warms up. Thanks for the vid!

Great video but scary when you're flying that low, especially when you were crossing that river. In case of engine out you will be in the water in just a few seconds. There is no appropriate LZ there, the banks are full of trees.

Yeah it would be a straight slam into the trees if I ditched. The higher I climbed that day the more violent it got. So I stayed pretty low as I'm really really familiar with that area including the water depths. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone not familiar.

@@TheVanlander, one of my fellow pilots almost drowned although the depth was only a couple of feet. He fell on his back (we call it "a turtle"), couldn't get up being fastened to his paramotor, water was rolling over his face, he could not breathe and so he was a step away from death. He miraculously managed to unfasten his belts and stand up. And his friends were sitting on a beach just a few meters away laughing - they thought he was kidding and just floundering for fun. So even shallow water can be dangerous. Take care.
