Finally a "real person" to share their views and experiences in a way that I can understand. I am thinking about trying this sport/hobby. I would like to foot launch however bad knees dictate a trike. Actually they have been replaced, I just don't want to do it again. I like the little bit of security the trike seems to offer. I will most often be flying by myself so again if something happens I feel the trike will give me a bit of an edge in minimizing injury.

Unquestionably, a trike will look after you in ways that a foot launch unit wont. I am currently teaching a trike student with a history of knee problems. He wanted to foot launch, but now having flown trike, he is confident that he made the right choice.

The guy on the trike that you were talking about who was out of control was actually an elderly guy (about 70 y/o) who actually passed out as he took off. You can see that he was full throttle with no brake input at all. Very lucky to have lived through that...

I just recently had my 8th skydiving jump. Unfortunately my head/ears can't handle the constant altitude changes. My ears were plugged for 3 days and I had a bad headache. I even had a bloody nose on that last jump. I got into skydiving because I loved the canopy part. I really should look into flying this way. I know I'd love it!

Hey man, just came across your channel today. It is awesome. I can’t wait to share it but I have just a couple of questions. If you have a video about buying a paraplane used and how to check it out that includes unpacking the foil check it out lines and the frame, the Paraplane I bought was the first generation with the two 210 solo dual prop small fold aluminum frame trike. I’ve owned it for three years still in the crate never unpacked it it’s used of course but I just need to know what I should do when checking it out just in the yard to do a safety check on it and of course I’ve never flown I have a basic pilots license from the 80s but I’m sure it doesn’t cross over to this. Also, I’ve kept kept the packed foil in a room downstairs with low humidity the whole time. Also, just let me say you’re the most non-condescending channel that I’ve seen yet you tell it real and you don’t talk down to people that’s pretty cool thanks.

to answer your question after my first comment.. I want to fly high for safety, but as I grow more comfortable, I want to also fly down low and interact with the terrain and maybe wildlife. ater proper training and knowing my equipment I would love to slalom hay bales in the field and get more aggressive. I have learned that acrobatics and true aggressive flying is way past my comfort zone balancing celebrating life with risk. I have always been an adrenaline junkie, but not more grounded at my age. I just want room to grow from flying high, and buzzing the ground as my skill allows. thanks again for your video.

On my first flight my instructor made the comment to deal with the oscillation because; "you don't want to do a wingover on your first flight." I enjoy the bumps, twists and turns. I trust the equipment and being 68 I figure if anything really happens, then oh well, I've enjoyed the trip so far...

Have you ever been in a situation where your wing has become fouled or even collapsed? Barring power lines or structures, what do you think the outcome might be? Do you just glide back down to terra firma or spiral to the ground? I live in a most beautiful part of New Mexico (ask any baloonist) and see many paragliders flying off the Sandia mountains. I just think a motored trike would bring it to that next level.

Just thought I would add here, I have had a couple of wonky take offs on my Xenit the past couple of flights (they can be seen on my last two videos too). I did have a line replaced so I am hoping it doesn't have anything to do with that and it is just my own input errors. They have been crosswind take offs, so I refer back to this video to remind myself of the balance between hands and feet on launch so just wanted to say thanks again for sharing!

I am not sure how I missed this video when it came out! Anyway great video as usual and spot on. You are a much more experienced pilot than myslef but we have the same trike and I am so thankful that in my training at One Up Adventures the very first thing they taught me on a tandem ride was oscillation control. I have had a wonky take off on a light crosswind where some bad oscillations started as soon as I lifted off and without that training I likely would have paniced for sure. To answer your question about where do you fly altitude wise, I am still kind of a high flyer, I like to stay at least 1,500 ft AGL after I leave the airport setting (they like us PPG pilots to be 500' or below when anywhere within the pattern range for safety). I got a little lower flying over a corn maze but only down to about 300' or so. I think having an engine out when I only had 6 hrs jaded me and I like to have options for landing! I only have about 38 flights right now so I think with experience I will like the lower flying a little more than I do, or it might be because I was a fixed wing private pilot years ago and don't remember being under 3,000' very often. Awesome words of wisdom...what size wing is that? I have a 28m w/p2f Calibri trike. Still training building ground handling skills.Wind has been horrible all spring and unfortunately training down at beach. Got to try a unpowered taxi w/16m and failed miserably...lower hang points and time off from training showed that I need to keep working on GH. Thanks for the inspiration on the video. It all makes sense.

I think your A assists are too tight, they have tension when your flying if you hit rough air and the trike moves around it will pull on the A's , not good

I can not begin to describe my passion for flying and my past experiences, other than to say ppg is, and will fulfill my dream and celebration. I have become parallelized in indecision, on what gear and what training I need. My celebration has now been in limbo. I have recently realized that foot launch is not realistic t0 fulfill my dream. I started flying in early 80s with ultralights.Got hundreds of hours in various types. Has a spin in a flexwing trike, survived and went to PPC. Ppc is actually the safest . Had a ppg but didn't use it hardly at all. With my ppc I normally fly a square chute, but I wanted to go faster so got an apco elliptical wing. Upon takeoff it started rocking back and forth Scared the crap out of me Just kept climbing and when I got high and let off the throttle it stopped. Glided back down. Never flew again with that wing.

You should at least study the ppg bible, get a wing n start kiting and watch n pause n understand every paramotor vid you can find. You need to be very thorough and confident you aren't missing anything. Good luck!
