Can I withdraw money from 5 years NPC after one year, in this case how much interest will be paid to me? 4. Hello, thanks for the comment - let me reply to you one by one: 1 - Yes, the profit with be credited on term basis (whatever length you have selected) - principal will be credited at the maturity only back to RDA. 2 - This depend on bank to bank - They will not charge anything from Pakistan, but if the account is a USD denomination, than there might be fee involved from 50 to 130 AED per transaction, but again it will depend on a lot of factors. 3 - This calculation is available publicly on different currencies and tenures. I am making a new video on this topic based on my last 1 year experience - will come soon. 4 - If you opened a USD account, it would be better that you contact your bank in UAE about your intentions as then they might give you preferential rates. As transfer from UAE to USD in PKR will attract multiple fees in the range of 50 to 200 aed depending on a lot of factors.

@@danishilyas2547 in USD there are different tenors of 3/6/12 months and you can get profit after maturity. But in 36/60 months tenure you can get profit after every 6 months and can compound again in case you can add more to top up of 5K$.

I don’t tolerate more than 1 working day delay for issuing NPC. I write a strong email keeping the main email of HBL in loop and second day, I loop in SBP in case it’s delayed. So far I’m always within max 2 days target to get NPC issued :-)

Sir, a bank account is a bank account. Pakistan is only a country where the regulation are funnyman 's economy. I'm overseas and my account here is usable in world, I got pkr account in ubl and I had accident in 2018 and I couldn't travel. My account is blocked and dormant. I travel this year to Pakistan, bank staff didn't recognize my POC card. Regulation says, no varification of POC but bank asking for varification. Account still blocked.

I have not made specific video on how to purchase, but if you are overseas Pakistani, its very easy, just contact any bank in Pakistan (from their website) and someone will contact you and guide you through. Some banks have account opening being completely automated too.

Local account cannot be credited to RDA. Loop back to RDA must be remitted/credited outside of Pakistan.

Thanks for this informative video. Suppose we invest in USD with the intention to use profits as running income (let's say after 3 months) in a foreign country. What costs will be incurred to bring money back to our bank account in a foreign country?

There are cost implications both while sending in USD and repatriating the USD back - However, it depends on the country you reside in as there is no charge imposed by the government in Pakistan - All the charges are imposed by the intermediate bank mostly which will entirely depend on the situation you are in. I recommend not to repatriate or send small amount in USD to avoid large %age of fee compared to transferred amount.

They are available through app, but I have seen that eventually you need to contact the RM to get the certificates applied - so better contact the RM and he/she should help you quickly.

If you are overseas, you dont have to be filling taxes anyways if you dont have any income from Pakistan. For RDA, there is no need for filling tax anyways being expat.

I am glad that the videos help you. Please note that as most of the banks currently don't have the direct connection with state bank for NPC issuance - they rely on manual emails and certificates. Just make sure you keep the email safe for future reference.

Thanks for reaching out. You can invest either through current or savings account in RDA. It’s advisable to open a savings account and then invest through that in NPC as in that way any residual period when you are not invested in NPC will also get you profit. There is no hidden charges of savings account, but pls check RM on this too.

Hello, if you talk about PKR, then there is no issue and you can transfer from any exchange in the UAE or your bank account - whoever gives you the better rates. For USD RDA, there are issues regarding the fee incurred - so you need to see which method serves you best and attracts the least amount of fee.

Thanks for reaching out. The corresponding bank charges vary from 35 aed to 150 aed depending on the remitting bank and corresponding bank. I managed to waive those charges when negotiating the transfer which was a large amount. That’s why for usd transfer it’s recommended to have a large transfer to avoid charges and in worst case if charges do occur, you don’t feel that much in %age terms.

Hi, you need to transfer USD from your own bank - You need to check with your relationship manager before executing the transfer, they might give you preferential rates. Keep in mind there is a fee which would be imposed and cannot be ascertained as it depends on multiple factors - so better to transfer a large amount if possible.

If you have opened the account while being NRP and now returned to Pakistan - you are not obliged to file the tax returns for I think 1 year (please double check this) - but for the tax on NPCs will remain as 10% till you are keep on invested.

I used HBL with conventional certificates. The returns are almost the same for both INPC and NPC.

I have also decided for conventional one, as for long term investment suppose for 5 years we can know that on pkr we are getting 11 percent annually where as on islamic one may be it can be decreased next year as they are deciding on monthly basis, so one isn't sure that after 5 years what exact profit he will have on his investment.

Thanks for reaching me out. I am not sure of the US taxes scenario in this case as wherever you go in the world, uncle Sam will follow you for the taxes. Whenever you open any financial account anywhere in the world, you are asked for FACTA declaration which I believe are for the same reason. With my limited knowledge as you are taxed WHT on profit in Pakistan, you might have to pay the difference on the gains minus WHT paid in Pakistan. For Zakat, no, it is not applicable on RDA account (as far as I am aware)

Thanks for commenting. So if you invest for 5 years term and withdraw after 10 months, you will get the profit after 6 months @ 5 years rate, but when you are withdrawing at the 10th month, you will receive the profit rate @ 6 months (pro-rata for 4 months) minus the additional profit you received at the 6th month accordingly.

Salam. Invest for 5 years in PKR at 11% minus tax? Definitely a LOSS considering the devaluation of Pak Ruppee and inflation rate in Pakistan. Consider the other factors and It will definitely a loss of your funds by any calculation.

There is no difference, but I will suggest savings account so that you profit from the days where your are not invested in NPC as well.

Wasalam, NPC will remain for the length of investment you did regardless of your status - just that you need to start filing into your tax returns once you are back in Pakistan for good.

I would say split 70/30 depending on if ever you want to repatriate back from Pakistan than it should 70% usd else if you would not be repatriating back then 30% USD. Reasonable amount to invest... depends on your current cash amount that you can invest.

Unfortunately, the NPC and RDA is for overseas Pakistanis OR people who have declared assets abroad. I would suggest you to look into National Savings OR any good mutual funds if you can take a little bit of risk.

Can you please guide me how can I add further money to my INPC account from my RDC PKR account? For example currently the INPC has 2 lac deposited in it and if I want to periodically add few thousands on regular basis how can I do that? like topping up the existing INPC.

Yes, u need to contact your RM depending on bank. I believe some banks have automated this, but others - this has to be done manually over email.

@@WaliKhan_2k Thx for the quick feedback my RM from Meezan is saying that you cannot "top up" the INPC certificate and instead have to buy new certificate (to my surprise) coz I thought I would be able to top it up with mutiples of 10k pkr ...do the other banks let you do this top up?

Very informative, i have invested in Naya Pakistan Certificate through Roshan Digital Account (HBL Bank). I have received computerized acknowledgement in PDF file of the investment in NPC. It does not reflect in my online banking platform, is this fine ? Also does State Bank of Pakistan issues any certificate as an acknowledgement ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, as of now most of the banks only send receipts on NPC on email, it’s not yet integrated to bank’s online web portals.

Thanks for reaching me out. You cannot directly invest in stocks through RDA. For that you show your interest in opening a CDC account to your bank's RM and they should facilitate in opening up the account.

For 5 years, you get the profit every 6 months and the investment can be withdrawn any time you want - the excess profit will be deducted accordingly.
