I just picked my Multigraph back up from getting serviced: it was my first real watch as well, and the Tag people was rather impressed that it survived two tours in Iraq, spending every day inside a tank. Had issues with the LCD face flaking off like nothing else.

My first ‘proper’ watch was a Tudor GMT a few years ago when I turned 22. Although I wanted to buy it after getting chartered so it always feels like I slightly cheated myself buying it a couple years early. I look forward to seeing how it ages over the next 10+ years. Like you it will hopefully capture my 20s (teens in your case). Love this side channel shmee!

That's a very unique starter watch ! I personally started with a Seiko 5 when i was 13. Worked all summer for it but lost it not even 2 years later on vacation.. love seeing your watch videos Tim. Maybe some videos of you visiting watch manufacturers in the future?

Great watch!!! Another mystery dial from a great brand like Zodiac in te 70's or Cartier nowadays!!! Just beautiful how it wears and those hidden features. Is one of my favourites in my watch collection! Nice to know that is an special watch for your like for me. I've been collecting watches since I was 8 years old and not many are quartz mounted but this one is a keeper due to this "mystery" functionality and amazing comfortability! Enjoy it for many years in good health! Cheers.

My first proper watch was a Seiko 5. I bought it few months before I turned 18 years old. It was a big deal for me because it was automatic and felt like a real adult purchase. I still own that watch and enjoy it even though I have a big collection now.

The box is soft plastic, there were nimerpus car brands who used this stuff in cockpits in the early 2000s, but it has that exact issue of getting sticky and even peeling off when it has been in lots of direct sunlight

I've always thought it was a TH kirium to be honest. As a Nürburgring and watch enthusiast you should really check out Coblor. Manufactur movement and a dial made from the asphalt from the Ring. Now in pre-order.

I choose between a Tag Heuer with that kind of display and an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch in 2002. I'm glad I went with the Omega which has kept its value great and also is more reparable if something happens in the future. But nevertheless, the Tag Heuer is a cool watch as well :)
