I think it’s great you can be so open, and helping other people who may be apprehensive about doing something they are afraid or maybe not confident enough to try! You just have to go for it! Great questions and great answers! Keep creating and sharing!

Aw man I missed this Q&A! I wanted to share that you helped me in the buy process of the t7i but also helped me get inspired to start shooting. Since then (2021/22) I have taken probably thousands of photos and have built up a creative passion that I was putting off for so long! Please be aware that your videos inspire people to do creative things that make them happy and scratch that "itch". Keep posting videos and I'm excited to see where your channel goes.

Aghh that’s amazing!! This means so much to me to hear 😌🙏🏻 one of my goals with this channel was to share my excitement and hopefully inspire someone to maybe pick up photography and fall in love with it the way I did, or as you said, just do more of what makes them happy in general. Thanks so much, and good luck on your photography journey. I’m so glad to hear started for you.

Howdy again from Texas. Although completely different from your other videos, this is also very well done. It is interesting to hear about your education and work history as well as some of your interests outside of work. Keep creating and putting out the videos.

I’ve only seen a couple of your videos thus far and have enjoyed your vibe. Where do you source your video music? I really like your creative photos and editing with the music. Thanks for sharing your journey…I’m late 50s and have focused on work, wife, home and family and only recently started exploring photography. I’ve always taken photos of nondescript subjects and didn’t know “street photography” was a thing but I truly love it! I admire you recognizing your creative talents and aspirations early in your life and courage to act on your impulse 💪I wish you great success 👏🙏

Means so much that you don’t take photos yourself and still watch 😌🙏🏻 I have KZbinrs who I do that with as well. I’m glad there are takeaways. Thanks so much for watching!!

Love this video~! I recently saw your Instagram on my fyp and love the photos too! And your cat is sooo stunning! Literally cats and photographers go well together lol, anyway, This Q&A is very helpful! I'm just hoping I can build up enough courage to do the photography, especially going out by myself 😅😅

Aghh that’s so awesome that you found it from your fyp! Thank you!! Aghh Walter is my son 😭 it’s so true, I’ve noticed a lot of street photographers have cats haha I’m glad it was helpful! Building the courage is something that takes time and happens slowly as you go 😌🙏🏻 I have a video coming out about this topic soon as well. Thank you for watching!

Another cracking Vlog, Kudos for doing it - Always interesting to hear sort of BTS stuff from creatives. PS. I saw you lurking in the background of a PaulieB vid ;)

I love the work of Saul Leiter. He escaped Pittsburg to study painting at the Art Student League. While there it was recommended he look at photography (was he being told his painting wasn’t good enough?). He started doing street photography. He started shooting street photography in color when B&W was the accepted way to be a serious photographer. Cool background music 14:24. Love jazz. Sounds like Miles. Check out WBGO fm out of Newark. The coolest jazz station. Shooting at night is hard. Yes, you need light. There is always the subway. Stores provide light. You can work with the colors and shadows. Rather than flash there is fast glass. Joshua K Jackson does great work in London. Sleepless in Soho is a great book. See the Sean Tucker interview. Like design & street photography? See Jay Maisel. WOW! Great use of color. Shutter priority? I set my camera to 1/250 and f5.6. I adjust the exposure compensation as needed. I also underexpose about 1/3 of a stop in B&W. Sometimes more. I crush my blacks. Love contrast. That is a particular look I like. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

Advice to the newbie asking you to put the settings up on screen: it really doesn't matter. Unless you are shooting the exact some scene at the exact same time, knowing the settings is pointless (except maybe as reference for what high shutter or low aperture etc looks like). Learn what effect shutter speed, aperture, and ISO has on your image and tailor them to the scenes you're actually shooting. Going out and figuring the settings for yourself is a much better way to learn.

I think it takes a lot of courage to move to New York City & start a new life. I always look forward to your photography & youtube videos. I'm a big fan of Lensbaby. They're for the artistic photographer. So, for your next Q & A, have you ever tried or want to try shooting with Lensbaby? They make their products in Portland, Oregon & they make manual lenses & OMNI pieces for creating different effects. Check them out sometime on line. Another Q & A: Have you thought about teaching in private workshops? That would also be cool to take people around the city & teach people how to do street photography. Keep shooting awesome photos & please stay safe out there!
@winslow_j3 ай бұрын
This means a lot Terri 😌🙏🏻 thanks so much. Lensbaby sounds super interesting, I’ve never heard of them!! I’ll definitely have to look more into it but I just did a quick search and they look super cool. I think doing workshops would be a tonnn of fun…might be something that comes a little further down the line, but I’ve definitely thought about it and would be interested in that. As things continue to progress, I’ll see which avenues I can dive into. It’s always a journey with new opportunities which makes this super fun. Thanks so much and thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
