Thanks for the very enjoyable Q&A Darren. By the way, you could do a three hour video on who deserves to be in the HOF. It's always a fun topic.

Great Q&A video. I agree that most of the people you mentioned should be in the HOF. Smokey Joe is a great choice. Thurmond Munson should also be in the HOF.

Enjoyable Q&A, Daren! I would, however, add Thurman Munson on the players that should be in the hall. Love your movie choices as well...I'm a big Pride of the Yankees guy.

Darren this was fun! Those 62 Metsies were always gonna be “drawing dead” from a W-L standpoint. Their major victory was just taking the field. it’s kind of a badge of honor to have the record for most losses in a season (but not quite 😅😅😅)

Ha! I agree, its a badge of honor! They had some pretty good guys on the team. Just needed to get the kinks out before they got to the 69 season...

I love 2 movies you didn’t mention….The Monty Stratton Story and The Winning Team! Great actors with Jimmy Stewart and Ronald Reagan among others. Also honorable mention is Jim Thorpe All American with Burt Lancaster and A League of Their Own with Tom Hanks and my personal favorite, Geena Davis!

Thanks James! I've never seen the first two that you mentioned, I'll check them out! A League of Their Own makes my top 10 for sure!!

Thanks, Darren! I've had a few KZbinrs over the years answer many of my questions. And they know who they are. I ask a lot of questions. Sometimes great. Sometimes not so great. But I appreciate you taking the time to dedicate a whole entire video for it! thanks so much. Let me know if you would like some more questions. We can get your subs back up from the ones lost by Graig, lol. 😄

I like the video, and think you should do more. My 2 cents on the questions you answered: If the 1927 Yankees are “murderers row” what does that make the 1926 Yankees? Pretty much the same roster that lost the World Series to the Cardinals. A player not in the HoF: Ken Boyer. Accomplished more than some of the players you mentioned. My 2 favorite baseball movies: The Sandlot and A League of Their Own. Between Bull Durham and Field of Dreams Senior Chief Randle did some great baseball movies
@ACD19945 ай бұрын
The Sandlot is in my top 5 too. Such a fun movie.

Thanks Jon! I agree, Sandlot and A League of Their Own would make my top 10! 26 Yanks would be maybe "Murdered Row"... Boyer was a great player!

Awesome Darren!! Even though I had to stomach through your love of the Yankees😂 Question for next time: A lot of KZbinrs have books about collecting or baseball cards in general. Do you have any? If you do, are there any you recommend? I’ve heard that there is a book about Bowman and Topps and their history of the companies battling it out in the 50s.

Thanks Jason! Glad you enjoyed, even though I went heavy on the Yanks... 😂. I appreciate you submitting a question. I'll include it on my next Q&A.

I can't wait until Billy Wagner gets in next year. His time is due! How many other HOF pitchers can claim a lifetime postseason ERA of 10??? "A League of the Own" and "The Natural" are simple replacements for a few selections you have here. Heck, even "The Sandlot" makes me want to run out and find a field somewhere...

Great, fun video. Not a PED fan and don’t support users into the HOF. Do agree on the HOF membership of the others - esp Mattingly and Wood. Agree being an ahole should not prevent a player from entering the Hall.

Glad you enjoyed! The PED guys are always a tough one regarding the HOF. Glad you liked the Mattingly and Wood picks!

Fun Q and A! I’m shocked that no Pirates teams from 90’s made the worst team list. Shame on you for not having rookie of the year in the movie list! Tell Andrew to give you some hardballs next time! 😂

2003 Detroit Tigers just missed it I guess. 43 and 119. But man, did they stink. 😅 Their best player Dmitri Young, sold over millions of dollars in baseball cards. I guess all that losing paid off. LOL. 42 is an essential viewing. I hope they do one similar for Clemente. I think Satchel Paige would be an interesting film too. And I read somewhere there's a Hank Aaron biopic in the works, so we'll see what transpires there. It's going to be about his 715 home run chase towards history.... But Field of Dreams, and Bull Durham, are my favorite too. Great video! Thanks again!
@returntocollecting5 ай бұрын
I agree Andrew! The 03 Tigers stunk! It would be cool if they did a Clemente movie! I heard the same about Hank Aaron. Hope it comes out soon!

Like the new Q&A video! Think I agree with you on most fronts. I am not in the Curt Schilling for the HOF camp, think he was a good pitcher not a great one. Would pick Louis Tiant, Tommy John and Kevin Brown ahead of him but that is just me. Have you ever seen the movie Bang the Drum Slowly, it is old but pretty good. Have. Great week my friend
@returntocollecting5 ай бұрын
Thanks Steve! Bang the Drum Slowly is a good one! Tommy John was a maybe on the list, for sure. Glad you enjoyed!

Schilling has a career WAR near 80. As Darren mentioned, one of 2 pitchers I believe not in the baseball HOF with over 3,000 career strike outs. And one of the best post season pitchers of his generation. I am not a Schilling guy, so don't really care much either way, but he certainly is better than Jack Morris and a few others already in the HOF imo.

Lou Whitaker and Kenny Lofton are my top non-hall of fame. I don't even think you need to lower the bar for those two. Even as a Braves fan, both were better than Dale Murphy. Rick Reuschel is overlooked because he was on some extremely bad Cubs teams
