Some Dodgers fans say it's fine because they won without Ohtani, so it's okay, but if he hadn't hit the double that tied the game in yesterday's first game, Dodgers might have lost. "Rookie" i didnt know rookies get paid 325 million dollars 12 year contract + 51 million paid to his former team Orix Buffaloes before he threw a pitch in thw mlb. These veteran japanese players should not be treated as rookie. Nomo, Ichiro, Ohtani, all getting rookie of the year is ridiculous. Rookies are players who are coming up from minors, such as Skenes, Merrill, or Corbin Carroll of last season, who never played professionally for a season. Npb players should not be eligible to win rookie of the year.
@quobeyАй бұрын
@@EdDy4RheelZ Americans are always referring to the NPB as equivalent to the minors, thus discrediting the NPB players of their achievements and records. I guess it's only fair that they receive the benefit of being called a rookie their first time round in the Majors, at least. You can't have it both ways, you know. That said, I totally agree that NPB players should not be treated as rookies, just that you'd have to acknowledge their achievements and records as such as well.

No, those are not the same people. Saying Yamamoto is overpaid is purely an insult to Yamamoto. Saying the dodgers have a good chance to win even without Ohtani is not at all an insult to Ohtani, it’s simply a compliment to how deep the dodgers roster is. Mozeliak did not like having someone that he could not control, but couldn't let him go because Tonys record spoke for itself and made Mozeliak look good. Mozeliak has hired "yes men" ever since. And it shows. The whole organization needs a front end make over badly. Starting at the top. But based on WAR if Ohtani isn't on the team the dodgers would be barely hanging on to a wildcard spot as Ohtani was worth like 9 WAR and the dodgers were 9 games ahead of the dbacks who just missed the postseason by half a game? But if he wasn't on the team someone else would surely step up.

No need to risk aggravating his injury straightaway, and trust in the rest of the lineup to come up with the hits. Great two games! Can’t assume anything, So many heart racing moments! I don’t have a favorite team but have some inclination towards the Dodgers but, it doesn’t matter to me who wins. Its how we get there that keeps me watching!

And Yankees just are not a good team. The AL sucked this year

Dodgers pitching doing a great job with the guys ahead of Soto, He may do some damage, but not much traffic on the bases for him to make it hurt too bad.

Really good observation actually. As a dodger fan I just worry with him at the plate. But never realized we've mitigated the damage by keeping em clean for when he's up. Feel like some of that's luck though and it can switch on ya. Baseball's funny like that.

Not a Dodgers fan, but I really hope they can win the WS for Shohei and Freeman. I get that Shohei Ohtani isn't very good in the WS, but his presence is important. He made everyone on the Dodgers better. And don't forget if it wasn't his clutch double in the 8th yesterday, the series will be tied at 1-1. As for Freeman, he is just amazing. Don't forget is playing with one leg. He hit another homerun today. I hope the Dodgers can close the series so Freeman's game-winning homerun won't be irrelevant.

Another great game. Yankees got to get going now, won’t be easy.

Dodgers almost ruined a stellar performance by Yamamoto, but gladly they didn’t. The 9th inning made me so nervous. Praying that Ohtani is ok and can play next game.

With ohtani out rest of series world series is ruined...the universe always has it in for dodgers...I resent being a dodger fan...And what we go through...World series is ruined now...

I knew the Dodgers would be tough but whoa. They all have contributed their role. Rotation, bats, fielding, bullpen. Now it's on to the Bronx to win two games at least to take it back to LA.

Man, when the Yankees lose this, they need to sign Soto big. He's the only one swinging a bat for them.
@wonday2738Ай бұрын
yeah definitely sign Soto, he's clearly enough to win games
@SvenChobaАй бұрын
@@wonday2738 Hey if the Playoffs are any sign, cut Judge, give Soto the whole budget.
@wonday2738Ай бұрын
@@SvenChoba you can cut judge, but no one is gonna pickup that contract when he's useless in the postseason
