Voigtlander Apo Lanthar 35, 50mm and Apo Skopar 90 are spectacular, will pair well with the m11. Also you can use them with your sl2 and cl via adapter. Enjoy your new toy mate 😉🇦🇺

You mentioned deciding between the Apo-Summicron and Summilux. I'd recommend checking out the Voigtlander Apo-lanthar f2 and Nokton f1.2 lenses. Both are incredible lenses that come very close to their Leica counterparts, but both can be had for less than $1,000 each. Highly recommend.

@@suhangyin8872 probably a good move. But it misses the weather sealing of the Q2 (unless you don’t need rain protection)

Yes, I now have the 50mm Summilux-M ASPH, 35mm Summicron-M, and 75mm Summicron-M ASPH. They are all sharp enough for me, and I don’t feel the need for the 50 or 35 APO Summicron.

if I could have only 1 camera: SL2-S. can do video, autofocus, weather-sealed SL lenses, in-body stabilization and still option to use my manual focus M lenses with focus assist. down-side is bulk and weight. M11 is fun and COOL.

Do you think an M11 would be a worthy addition to a Leica q2..I just love using the q2 it’s so nice to work with
@sc12 жыл бұрын
Holy crap, great Patek! For me, definitely yes -- I added the M11 to my Q2 and SL2-S kit... even though I strive for minimal equipment. But it depends on what focal length you prefer. I love the quickness, stealth, autofocus, weather-sealing, and ease-of-use of the Q2. But I found the wide 28mm a little too restricting, so I wanted a 35-50mm capability in addition. The In-camera cropping on the Q2 just didn't do the job. Now I find it so fun to use the manual-focusing rangefinder optical viewfinder on the M11, and I also have many more options for lenses... If you're happy with the 28 mm focal length, then no need to get the M11. I'm keeping my Q2 to do wide street togs, but the M11 might take over for everyday general use, once I obtain a nice 35mm and 50mm Leica lens.

@@sc1 You hit the nail on the head …I love the q2 but many a time I’ve been using the crop feature to make it 35 mm …I’m told the Leica M 35 mm 1.4 lens is just amazing but I want to play around the Q2 first to be better and probably wait for the M11 safari or reporter edition because I love the olive 🫒 green look of Leica to pair with the q2…
@mnachbar2 жыл бұрын
I’m in a similar position - I have a Q2M and am thinking of adding an M. For awhile I was considering the SL2S, but it’s really big. I just worry that I’m going to get decision fatigue - there’s something nice about not having to choose which camera/lens to take with me. Are you experiencing anything like that?
@sc12 жыл бұрын
@@mnachbar I am. I chose to keep the Q2 with 28mm for quick photos and the SL2-S with 24-70mm and 60mm Macro for video, but I'm adding the M11 with 35 and 75mm. Yes, The SL2-S is very heavy and bulky, so it stay home most of the time. But for minimal decision-making, I would recommend just a Q2 and an M11 with a 50mm lens. It's easy to let the Q2 take over and do everything, but the M camera experience is totally new and different, and forces you to make the effort to manually focus, and in the process, compose your photos better.
@watchmedicine77472 жыл бұрын
@@sc1 I believe the q2 would be the better travel camera?I mean i think the m11 body is lighter than the q2 but with an additional lens its q2 thats more light and compact and also the autofocus makes it an easier choice...I want the M11 like u mentioned for the experience when i have time to shoot and stroll about...But will the M11 ever surpass the q2 as an everyday camera?Not sure since I havent tested the M

13:16 “In all street photograohy, i had to use LR to bring down the highlights, bring up the shadows.” …know on fuji as DR400 mode where as the camera does this automatically in camera, even in RAW files! Producing gorgeous and filmic pix straight out of camera There nothing worse after a day of street photography than coming home with purposely underexposed photos that look terrible behind the camera, condemning you to hours in LW. These cameras are portable computers, theres no reason why we can’t have them shift the dynamic range to allow 3 stops of hi light extraction at the expense of shadow details as fuji dr400 mode does. You end up with less post work, better OOC results, and a less digital looking images.
