another neutral, ridiculous decision, ruins the game for everyone, Ref has to use common sense, the only way a player could prevent that penalty would be to stand outside the area and never run inside it... or run around with their arms glued to the side of their body like john cleese..he didn't move his arms to react to the ball and the arms were in a totally natural position for what he was trying to do... the rules have to be changed

To get a handball used to have to require a well positioned Ref observing a clear obstruction of the balls path by the players arm / hand. Now we have a Video replay system to make things clearer and we see this obvious non hand ball but call it a pen. Absolutely ridiculous

UEFA have reiterated their law on what is or is not handball, so if the ball hits a part of the body and is deflected onto the arm or hand it’s NOT handball. They have also said the referee made a massive mistake, sadly only one looser in this sorry mess and that is Newcastle United who may not qualify for the knockout stages.
