It's great that so many people are still racing those lovely little bugs Also so many cars on Donington National - sounds quite stressful for a first race
@ChrisHaye2 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely keeping a fair number of them out of the scrappy! And 48 on the short circuit was pretty mad. It’s more akin to traffic on motorways, where you’ll go a while without seeing anyone, then all of a sudden there’s a mass of cars all clumped together! It’s a car that relies so much on momentum that even the fastest guys can lose several seconds if the catch a slower car at the wrong moment. It’s kinda the racing equivalent of coming up to a pair of HGVs on the motorway 😆

Haha, yeah they’re all in scrapyards or on the track it seems. I’ve only seen one out in the wild since I signed up in November! You’re right about the penalties of course, but it’s much easier to think about that in the cold light of day. I was really careful not to change the tone of my initial reactions with the editing and voiceover, I’d much rather this was as real as I can make it.

Great stuff, but not your fault... sounded like a collective thing. Had you done your stint first you wouldn't have had to serve the penalty. Also the risk of a black flag without radio coms was possible, so nice one making sure you noticed you had to serve it from the pit wall only and not get black flagged. If anything it sounds like you did well to bring it home in the situation you were faced with. Well done Chris.

Yo this is awesommmme. Are those cars front wheel drive? They remind me of the Clio Cup car. I ran an rFactor 2 championship with those cars, super fun. I love the filmic cinematography. Very exciting to see sim racers turn laps in the streets. Really get me going. Congrats on your first race. Stoked to see more!
@ChrisHaye2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Yeah, FWD, semi slicks, roll cage, racing springs/dampers and better brake pads, otherwise the same as the street version. It does handle a lot like the Clio cup car, though doesn’t have as much power… which just means less time on the brakes 😂

Amazing stuff! Again just bringing it home it's a good result. I think the track limits situation could use a better explanation because I can't really tell when it happened or what's the track limit in this category (White line/Kerb)
@tobyowenracing2 жыл бұрын
Anything outside the white line or red & white kerb is classed as "beyond track limits", so it was the run on to the green concrete that triggered it - but yeah fair point, track limits are interpreted differently by different countries and sometimes even different series within the same country!
@danacwsf2 жыл бұрын
@@tobyowenracing yeah I thought it could be that but the angle doesn't help telling where the car is either. As long as they are more consistent with it than F1 track limits it's just a lesson to learn from hehe
