@@coolguy_alt It stopped booting properly. When I turned it on, the “RGB” screen would show, then some strange jumbled text would pop up for about 10 seconds before shutting itself down. I messaged Powkiddy on their website and they sent me a writing tool and the image for the OS. I needed to format the OS SD card and re-write the image to it. Not a difficult process for anyone that’s slightly savvy, but I could imagine it being a dealbreaker for some people (non-techy parents buying for their kids, etc.). I couldn’t find anyone else with the issue before contacting them, so maybe it’s not a common fault.

Yeah it doesn’t run n64 great but does play ps1 and Dreamcast good though. I have this device but I do find it a very awkward and small to play for long periods I am very tempted to get the powkiddy x55 as I much prefer the horizontal layout instead of Thai game boy style type and that has a beautiful 5.5 inch screen and also hdmi output - also even has handles for grip which is much more convenient and comfortable for me

6:53 did you just say that the battery only lasts 1 or 1 and a half hours? 🤣 i don't have this device but theres no way the battery could be that horrible even at 100% max brightness settings. gotta be something wrong with it or issue with the indicator which can be common

I'm kinda late to the comment party, but I hope you get to read it. This device is very good, but it gets a bad because it needs some tinkering. So here is what you need to know: This device in particular is called rgb20s (powkiddy is the manufacture/reseller). It comes with the worst micro sd cards known to mankind. They are gonna corrupt SOON. You need to get good quality cards, transfer the data, and use the new cards. Specially for the ROMs. Now, to have the sd cards work in this device, they need specific formating. So, I know you're not really into emulation, so I suggest you follow the channel "retro game corps", he's got a lot of easy to follow guides for setting up your device.

It's also of note that your device uses an rk3326 chip. Many devices use it, so when you look around for the downloads you need, your device uses the same stuff as the rg351mp, so you gotta look for that. There's a bunch of different operating systems you can use, so check some videos (you need to set everything up again anyway, so I suggest you go the extra mile to get the better experience). The ArkOS, or the AmberElec might be the two best options for you I believe (but check out the others anyway). If you feel good about the experience, the rg351mp runs two stereo speakers, and your device runs one mono speaker (I believe). So you could dive a little deeper tô chance that configuration in the system to get it really fine tunned. But it will work fine If you don't.
