Hey Jenn! I don't think I've ever commented on one of your videos, but I had to comment on this one. I loved this video! This was by far the best "curly cut" video I have seen thus far because you asked the right questions. It was so informative and I think it will be of value to a lot of people because it will help them to understand their hair and the purpose of certain products. The stylist was nice and answered your questions thoroughly, she showed you what she was doing and told you why she was doing it. It was like sitting in the chair with you. Thanks for always going the extra mile to be thorough and to bring as much knowledge to your viewers as possible. Great, great video!

This is why I tell people to go to a stylist at least once during their journey 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I know they are expensive, but well worth it for healthy hair. Most influencers, although some mean well, lack the knowledge that a stylist have to properly take care of hair. And the bad ones makes very unhealthy trends that cause damage (like not washing hair with soap). Im a chemist, and understand the science since I formulate skin and hair products and still go to a stylist because they just have that extra bit of knowledge through techniques that I'm miss. So glad you went Jenn!!!!!!!

So I learned a few things watching this video... 1. Our hair performs similarly in that it loses water as fast as it absorbs it, so I may be on a 3-5 day routine instead of 7 until it can get to a point of retaining more water (or forever if that never happens). LOL :-) 2. Even though I do style in smaller sections, I probably need to use even smaller sections. 3. Consistency is key. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I really like Paula and her way of explaining things to you... almost made me wish I lived in Ottawa. :-) I also appreciate you for asking the right questions. Your cut looks amazing! :-)

The oils along is not the magic formula out here to grow back damaged edges. I know that I have been a sucker for that hype many of times and people still today is throwing their money away. Paula is a true professional. I love her detailed explanations and deep knowledge of different products. That’s important for all stylists but especially so for curly hair specialists. In recent years there’s been a proliferation of CGM influencer types, many with an agenda to push a certain line of products so they get a kickback. And don’t even get me started on their meticulously lit and edited photos with zero frizz that are 0% reflective of real life once you dare step outside. 😡 It’s great to speak to a professional to cut through the BS and get expert recommendations. My game totally changed after my first curly cut this summer and I’m glad yours did too. You look great and I hope you continue to see Paula!

Then one day I saw an old passport pic of my mom and she had this beautiful afro. From that that day I set out to learn how to take care of my own Afro. Great video, thanks for sharing!! I’ve been acting brand new too with my new shape so I can relate.🤣 Tight curls take longer/require more hand work ,to clump so I think you’d be less overwhelmed/stressed if you finish setting your hair outside the shower. I put the leave in (if I use one) and UFC in the shower and finish setting my hair (clumping + 2nd topper gel/mousse) outside with my clothes on and spray bottle handy. I am at the beginning of this re-hydration process so it will take time for my hair to retrain itself. However if you don’t mind standing in your shower for a certain amount of time then I love that for you.😃

Maybe this is how dehydrated hair behaves. I expect your hair to change as (if) you continue on this journey. The best video…so much great information. Love the cut, too many commercials, can’t wait to see what you do next. I tried Wng’s and didn’t like it, my hair felt sticky, but will try again using these methods. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Great job and conversation 👏. I do want to say that growing up with grease and water, our hair grew like wildfire.
