How long did you stay under the dryer and do you recommend blow drying your hair afterwards like the stylist did? Was your hair not completely dry after you left the dryer?

This was a great series. It's taken me a while to really understand the method to the madness of the wash n go, to a point that I avoided them. But I'm just about ready to try again. And the series was timely. I really liked how she explained everything. My niece is visiting for a couple of months and we are setting out on the journey to her feeling better about wearing her own hair out. I've been strategizing but had a couple of questions that got answered in this series.

@@hanginwithjamye9659 about 30mns and we only blow dried afterwards because I wanted more height on top. So blow drying isn’t necessary. You only want to dry the outside of your hair and go on about your day. Your roots won’t dry and that’s ok (unless you take a blow dryer to them to speed up the process. You don’t want to over dry the wash and go because you want to keep all that juicy hydration 💦

Elaine is such a gift to the natural hair community. This video was filmed in Toronto as she travelled for her Tight Curl Nation movement. Like what. A full salon visit where she answers all questions asked , teaches techniques, gives recommendations. And she did the same thing on Just Tanoe’s video also. As well as in Nigeria teaching stylists there and even in another creators video who lives there. Literally such detailed and useful information for so many people free !! Wow ! Thank you thank you ! And thank you Jenn for bringing this video to our screens ! So grateful to God for you both. Now everyone please listen and learn !

I’m glad she mentioned that you don’t have to be stressed to get your hair finished in 30 minutes to an hour. It takes me 2 to 2 1/2 hours which includes dry time. It takes about 45 minutes to wash twice, detangle and condition. Then I shower, rinse out conditioner then style. After styling I now prefer to diffuse. It takes about 25-30 minutes.

If I remember correctly, this is the same stylist that was interviewed by Adunno or Fo. When I saw that interview, I remember wanting this stylist to come to AZ to do my hair and teach local hairstylist how to care for tightly coiled and kinky hair. So, imagine my surprise when one of my favorite youtubers decides to do a detailed interview with this particular hairstylist. All I have to say is thank you and may God bless your journey.

Definitely saving the series in my library to revisit and sending people I know with natural hair your way!😊💕 Side note: Although there are expensive the Innersense hydrating shampoo and their moisturising conditioner are a good investment .No toxic ingredients , no endocrine disruptors, and they *last*. I buy the 1L refills once a year that’s it.

my wash day takes 4 hours, i spend 20 minutes detangling and shampooing and then 5-10 minutes conditioning then i like to add a heat cap for about 30 minutes just to get my hair to absorb all the moisture since it is low porosity. what i really struggle with on wash day is parting my hair since i do have medium to high density and thick hair so parting each section, watering it down and locking it with gel is a workout for my arms. the whole styling part takes about an hour, sometimes 45 minutes if i'm lucky. now this is where it gets tiresome, diffusing, my hair takes forever to dry i spend about 2 hours just trying to diffuse my hair and it truly doesn't budge, however it does look bomb at the end and lasts me about a week so it's kind of worth it i guess

Such a great series! Love the info about smoothing and separating. I have found with my hair that smoothing and separating gives me better results. Raking gave me clumps that were too big for the size of my curls, and also caused more frizz for me. It was great to here that what I am doing is perfect since my curls are tighter. Thanks for showing us the cutting process also. It was cool seeing Elaine carefully scult your hair shape!

The marinating step and the addition of addition gel has made such a difference for me. My hair would shrink at least fifty percent while drying.
