I've been considering this tent vs the Kuiu Storm Star. Like you said a big selling point for yours is being able to open it up and have the views, but more inclined to go for the extra inner room of the 2 man Kuiu. I would recommend if you don't have one, to get the Thermarest trecker chair, wide version for your wide mat. I love it, being able to sit up and read or watch a film, or you could point yours out to the open vestibule and enjoy the view.

I was in the same boat when comparing the two but the clips and set up time seemed quicker on the vern than the kuiu and the vestibule did it for me on the vern But there both great choices regardless As for the chair ive had my eye on it since buying the mat but also told myself no more camping gear as ive spent a small fortune this winter

@herethereandeverywhereYT It could be your first purchase of the new year! It is a game changer really does add a lot more options and comfort to the camp. Weighs nothing too. Best of luck with the channel, you reminded me of Good Bloke Outdoors with the same kind of glasses!

@herethereandeverywhereYT Thailand is amazing you'll love it. If you want to see where they filmed The Beach get to Krabi in Phuket, then a boat over to Ko Phi Phi, then another to Maya Bay. I did my Padi Open Water there and it's like an aquarium. That was 5yrs before the tsunami. I'll get back there again one day.

Do you have to get a permit of ask permission to camp in fleetwith pike?
@herethereandeverywhereYT
@herethereandeverywhereYT Ай бұрын
Good question Ive never gotten permission to wild camp anywhere and never been moved on or had any bother but i try my best to arrive late into the day usually just before sunset and then leave nice and early in the morning whilst remembering to leave the place cleaner than when i arrived just so im not giving anyone an excuse to moan But if for example you did get moved on theres a bothy about a 15/20 minute walk away so you could always stay there

@herethereandeverywhereYT thank you for getting back to me buddy I'm just getting into wild camping my self all I can see is going to Scotland as wild camping is legal there glen coe looks nice to go to I'm 2 hours away from lake district and about 4 hour away from scotlamd :) so if you have any ideas where I could possibly go with my family & spaniel dog I would really appreciate it I'm loving your videos just been going through them keep up the good work and happy wild camping buddy 😀

Not a problem buddy always happy to help ! The thing with wild camping being illegal in the uk is its not actually illegal its a civil matter between you and the land owner so the worst they can do is ask you to move on which ive personally never had that problem especially when you’re respectful to the surrounding area by not being there longer than you need to and leaving no trace so as long as your respectful dont let the laws put you off ! As you’ve said you want to go with your family finding spots to stay really depends on your needs like are they all reasonably fit enough to do a hike up a mountain, do you have young children that might be unsafe near cliff edges and do you have any experience with your camping gear as id never advise anyone to do a summit camp as there first camp in the winter months so if you can give me abit more information i can make some recommendations on where to start

@herethereandeverywhereYT thank you again for the reply we have done camping in the past just not wild camping I have loads of experience in the clothing and gear of r value I have experience in tents too and 1 one rule is leave no trace! I will be camping in wild with me and my son who is 7 years old with my cocker spaniel we won't be looking at moutins at this momment till he understands more also my self we are just keeping low around forests woodland and next too lakes we do hiking around Durham erea and we are looking to go out abit more out the way around scotland erea the place I'm looking at the momment is loch doon looks amazing there with some views ahead we have all the gear we need for it but I won't be going into this winter season thank you again looking forward seeing your next wild camp!

Ah well thats good that you have experience you seem like you’re all set for a bit of wild camping if you’ve watched my wild camping video in the forest thats a great spot in the lakes as its only a 15/20 minute walk from the car park and offers some amazing views alternatively theres afew spots up rivington in my home town of bolton i can send you some google pins over on instagram @ab_hte if thats of interest to you i like them as they mean i dont have to spend as much in petrol and its never as busy as the Lake District As for Scotland i haven’t wild camped up there much but definitely looking to get up there in the coming weeks just wanted to get my winter set up sorted first before making the 4/5 hour drive. But once again any questions feel free to ask and thank you for supporting my small channel im currently editing another wild camping video that didn’t go to plan so keep make sure to turn on the notification bell so you dont miss that one hopefully be uploaded this week!

did it take a couple hours pitching or does the timelapse lie?
@herethereandeverywhereYT
@herethereandeverywhereYT 2 ай бұрын
It took me a good 20-30 minutes to get it pitched as it was my first time pitching it but that was me trying to figure out which way the poles went, matching the groundsheet up perfectly and then un tying all the guy ropes. The fact the sun was just setting behind the mountains made the time lapse look alot longer I set it up in about 10 minutes the other day which is still quite a while but thats just because i like to perfect things ill be out in it again on Tuesday and ill time how quickly i can set it up now after a couple uses

Deffo do a budget set up camp not temu crap but stuff at working man's prices might help others without deep pockets get out there and camp and enjoy nature ,let's say budget off 250,300 all in half decent set up I search and search more for sales and offers online saves money

Enjoyed vid snoop is a cool dude😂porno tash mmmm😮I'm newbie in mid 50s not been yet due to health problems being disabled with back and legs light gear is a must but I coudnt carry a vern wish could as be tent id buy,I got msr elixir 2 and alpkit polestar tents to try out depending on my camp,wanting to take jock camping but Scottish deerhound that's old with windy bottom might be tad big for polestar tent😂😂

Glad you enjoyed the video! Snoops is the best and as for the tash it was movember gotta support the men’s mental health when you can 👌 its a shame to hear you’re struggling with the extra weight as these verns are very nice tents but the msr elixer is a tried and tested beast too so start small and get yourself out on some safe hikes or if you’re feeling adventurous go with someone i usually put in facebook groups asking if people fancy a camp
