As a solo Destiny player strikes are my favourite activity whether it’s charging through with experienced players or just hanging to help back with new lights. This strike had an update as the original had become too easy in that you could kill the final boss whilst still on the elevator in a matter of seconds.

Man when D2 first launched my wife and I loved playing the Red War campaign. Near the end of it you had to fight through the last city and doing it at launch and seeing other guardians with you as you all faught to defeat Ghaul for the first time together was kinda amazing. Definitely miss it.

A huge tip that’s not often pushed, but do not be shy about using your abilities. One obviously should be calculated in their use, but one can throw dozens of Grenades and Charged Melees throughout an activity. In addition, one can usually get at least 2-3 supers per strike without really trying; twice as much if your team is using theirs: “Orbs of power” are pooped out by Guardians in their supers upon each kill. These by default grant super energy. If you have a team of Guardians consistently Supering, you can keep each giving each other a little more super energy.

Best advice i can give you is pay attention to the radar for objectives. It has arrows and different shades of color for whether things are above, below, or same level. Another major thing is reload before switching weapons. You can switch right as you see the ammo refill to animation cancel if you want to be quicker, but seeing you cycle through and have to reload when you need rounds just shows where you can improve.

This was a Red War strike, but Arms Dealer got an overhaul about a year ago. The antagonist is now the Shadow Legion, which came out with Lightfall. The Red War had the Red Legion. They are revamping all of the year 1 strikes because they had become way too easy. The latest OG D2 strike to get revamped is Inverted Spire, which is set to be debuted this season.

In Cabal based strikes/nightfalls prioritise those turrets, they shred. Some exotic weapons have a hidden perk that you can’t see in the weapon inventory . Bad Juju is one of those weapons ( buffed recently ). Every 5-6 enemies killed you’ll see a green smoky explosion ( looks like the smoke coming out of the muzzle ). It looks a bit underwhelming visually but actually it’s got a pretty large radius. There are plenty of vids on yt that’ll tell you which weapons have these hidden perks 👍

so glad you finally get to play! just a heads up that it's usually a good idea to keep a special weapon equipped for the extra damage to yellows and bosses. you don't bank special ammo unless you have a gun that uses special ammo equipped. when you switched from smg to sniper, you had no ammo, but that ammo would have quickly dropped if you kept the sniper equipped and got kills with your primary pulse!

Just so you are aware, they did revamp that and a select few other strikes to be a bit more challenging in the current sandbox, so the context with dialogue and such may be different! We also didn’t have cabal allies or any allies of a race for that matter, just something to keep in mind!

Nice to see a New Light enjoying Destiny 2. Fun fact, The Arms Dealer strike is quite a bit different then how it was when it first launched, they mainly changed the route to get to one location and added more enemies to make it more dense, mainly cause after awhile people got REALLY good at speed running it when it was a Nightfall and was widely considered one of the easier strike/nightfalls in the game prior to the change. The Arms Dealer strike is the OG strike of Destiny 2 year 1 (i could be wrong) but it's the first strike you're introduced to in the game initially though back then it was an "adventure/mission" then a strike. so much as changed. anyway, it was part of the Red War campaign and Bracus Zahn was one of generals of Dominus Ghaul (villain of the Red War campaign) that you had to defeat in order to halt/weaken the Cabal invasion on Earth. The Destiny 2 community still hopes that Bungie will bring back the Red War campaign (they probably won't) cause it was a great intro the game and just a great campaign overall. Definitely check out Byf's lore vids on the Red War and the rest of the sunset content as there's quite a bit that was "vaulted". best of luck and have fun in Destiny 2.

Really enjoying some throwback Destiny 2 stuff from you. If you're still using Starfire Protocol equip an Empowering Rift instead of a Healing Rift. While standing on an Empowering Rift your grenade energy recharges faster while hitting and killing enemies.

hey guardian, returning light here i played at launch, left for a while, and came back recently the game is so different than what i remember but its core gameplay loop remains the same fun i remember, small tips for you, your charged melee has a range to it and has the power to clear a small crowd you missed several times bc the enemies were too far away, wait just that tiny bit longer so they get in its range for maximum damage, glad you had so much fun with your first strike

Byf is the lore daddy and will give you all the information you wanted and more. It's crazy how much of the game has been vaulted and doesn't exist inside the game itself anymore. Of the content in the game that is left the Witch Queen is by far the best, both in terms of gameplay and story, and there are threads that lead from one to the other. Like Shadowkeep introduces us to something from the big bad, Beyond Light introduces a new subclass and a new environment - as well as a bunch of lore tidbits regarding Exo's and such. Lightfall got panned, but it's still worth playing. The new subclasses open the game up in a crazy way, and again a new environment, tougher enemies etc, and of course The Final Shape is the home run a lot of us waited a very long time for - in a lot of cases it's what we've been waiting for/building to for a decade.

Ideally you should always have a special ammo weapon in one slot, you kept switching off as you had no ammo, but you will pick it up as you go. Double primary is generally weak. Enjoying the playthroughs!

@DPatriot quick suggestion to help with your movement on a Warlock (you seem to be very floaty, even for a Warlock), try switching to Burst Glide for your jump type; it allows for more of a forward boost to motion rather than a straight up and down boost. You don't seem to be using the Heat Rises ability so more time airborne isn't really advantageous. Until you come to jumping puzzles lol

I had a small bet with myself that at least one would get totaled when you got to the top of the lift. Those turrets are evil in this strike. Thought you did really well though, as time goes on you'll build up your armour etc so you have ammo finders / scouts to proc purple and green drops. The original strike was a little different, and it was a bit of a shock to me when i replayed it after a 4 year or so break. Its good to see you enjoyed it, can't wait to watch you run through the others.

Great video, I cant wait for you to get a handle on builds, finding out hoe different exotic and legendary weapons and armor synergise with your subclass is what I would call Destiny's secret sauce. Highly recommend looking through all your subclasses and weapons again with someone knowledgeable who can explain what everything means, find an exotic weapon and/or armor that you think looks fun, and figure out a way you could use your subclass to enhance that playstyle, it's really fun!

Also, if you're impressed by this strike alone, then raids, dungeons and exotic missions are gonna blow your mind. You're probably not experienced enough for zero hour, but I just played it recently for the first time (didnt play it when it originally released before that took it out years ago), and it was a magical experience, definitely need a fireteam for it though.

It's so easy to get onet that OP gaurdian that's farming and will completely mess up your first experience. It's not intentional or toxic, but after doing a strike to many times you just want to get through it fast and efficiently.

upgrade your armour by increasing the number on each individual piece. then you can attach some mods such as special ammo and heavy ammo regeneration as well as damage resistant mods, each piece will have a different set of mods you can attach to them that way you wont run out of ammo as quick and will be able to boost your guardians' overall stats. send me a friends request in game if you want and i will join your fireteam so you can get more endgame loot and activities done

Nicely done. A piece of advice I would like give, take it or ignore your call. But generally when a enemy drops a ball or a item that can be picked up, it would mean there's either a thing/enemy you have to throw it at or interaction with a door or hole. Also, just a tip. If you ever want to get to try endgame/harder stuff like nightfall and legendary campaign, I would recommend have a primary that has heal clip( one of which is the SMG you currently have equipped, but will need to get more to reroll the perks.) If you don't have healing grenade on solar class, or devor on void.

Adding on to this, you should give Onslaught a couple runs Patriot. Awesome guns to be had there, Luna's Howl can drop heal clip, blast furnace is an amazing pulse rifle, edge transit is also an awesome GL.

Theres so much more for you to see in the game yet. Not sure what kinda Destiny player you gonna end up being but if you like challenges, there are dungeons (3 man activity, its like mini raids). Dungeons are fun. But every Dungeon gives you a unique emblem to flex with if you can finish it solo without dying in one go. One of the most challenging things in the game. But then everyone’s sees your emblem and is like woow

Sssooo….major warning if you want it…there are different benefits and restrictions placed on you in strikes. One of them is grounded, where you take more damage from enemies when you’re airborne! The Warlock glide is one of the worst when this is active due to the fact your up there for a bit. Just keep that in mind, you can find the benefits/restrictions on the loading screen when your choosing the strike. Strikes are a blast as a solo player. Good luck Guardian! 👍🏻😁

@ It changes I believe on daily reset. Choose the strikes, then before you launch, the modifiers are listed on the lower left of the screen. It’ll show subclass/damage enhancements as well as burns that do more damage to you. You can change a mod in your chest armor that will reduce incoming damage from the burn damage type….if your armor is upgraded enough that is! 🤣🤣

Try not to always swap off constantly with special and heavy weapons, the ammo is diminishing returns to no ammo when you do that in combat. Unless you wanna be testing every gun mid combat, you should be picking up every bit of ammo bricks you see. Swapping off a gun with no ammo to another gun in that ammo type will not suddenly give it ammo, unless you're rocking double special, every gun is empty and stand around aimless for several minutes.

It can be overwhelming for first time players the amount of content there is and then bungie want people to start at the end of the story instead of going through it naturally because I can say with having played since day one, alot of new players wouldn't have a clue what was going on story wise and they miss out on the all the emotions and that's what this game does best, brings out emotions

Lore Dump: Caiatl was mentioned in the strike and you were rescuing Cabal forces. Empress Caiatl is the Daughter of Emperor Calus of all of the Cabal. She along with a few other Cabal such as Ghaul himself staged and preformed "The Midnight Coup" overthrowing the Emperor and set him on his ship the Leviathan (a ship large enough to literally swallow worlds) to fly aimlessly through the Universe. . . . There's more to that story, but Caiatl now works with us to help defend the Universe against the Darkness.

Ooooo, eventually I will do a video on the topic. D2 has exceptional gunplay and pve with strikes, dungeons, and raids which I have been deeply needing in general. Both are extremely fun. I was invest in Warframe’s story and lore while trying out new frames (super fun when you get one). Getting new armor and exotics is just as exhilarating for me so time will tell. Most likely will do a D2 20 hour review from a new player perspective soon
