Alex your idea of setting the charge limit makes total sense I do the same or even less so I arrive at my first Supercharger just below 12% to maximise my charring speed, these Fremont Built model Y's long range with Panasonic 2170 are charging beasts!

I got my model Y like 2-3 days after yours, absolutely love the car, got 600 miles on it already and having my first road trip with it next week

Your mention of no regen settings you can get that, also you can get autopilot auto re-enable when lane changing on the latest version of S3XY buttons version 2, I have an order for the two button version.

I used to have a Bolt but sold it for a Model 3 a few years ago. For road tripping there is no comparison.I knew you couldn't be happy during those 70 minute Bolt charging sessions! Ha, ha. Enjoy your new car.

I got a white 7 seat Model Y the day after you did in EP. It’s amazing. Would love to see a video on various charging methods on your trips. Hotels, CCS adapter, 120V, etc

Thanks for the idea! I'll be sure to include that in future road trip vids.

PPF is a must on teslas due to the soft paint. Also, avoid mechanical car washing. PPF also protects against minor rock chips and scratches, as it has self-healing features, unlike a wrap that doesn't. Enjoy your car. The recommended PPF is the front bumper, hood, and side view mirrors. I would also recommend mud guards to protect the rear quarter panels

I could not have said it better. He thinks this is his bolt the paint on that tank is like iron.

Great video. Keep them coming. I've had my Model Y for a month and just love it! Any accessories you plan on adding to your car? Have to ask Alex, are you a Vikings or Packers fan?🤣

Some day I hope to get a CCS adapter, mobile charger, floor mats, and a hitch mount bike rack! Still recovering from the initial purchase though. 😅 Skol Vikings!

As you get more comfortable, you will be willing to let the percentage get even lower. Plug into a 250 v3 supercharger below 10% and you will be blown away how fast it charges. And it is often not worth the.time charging about 80% since it slows down.
@thenetworkarchitectchannel Жыл бұрын
Yeah, so at supercharger stops, I typically only get out of the car for 5-10 min as it goes by so quick. I did a road trip across I-40 (vid on my chan) and there were so many SCs it was silly. Plus, they are said to be ready to double the number in the next 18 months due to access to fed funds.

The Tesla charging experience is night and day compared to non-Teslas. Looking forward to a longer road trip this summer. The only thing I worry about is accelerated battery degradation due to excessive supercharging, but it's probably not something I should let run my life. Thanks for watching!

@@alexkno11 we have a Mod3 2019 LR that we have taken all over. Not really noticed any loss of distance yet. Will watch out for summer road trip vids from you to drop. Take care.
@TheEdmaster87 Жыл бұрын
@@alexkno11 Not a problem because of Teslas good battery management system, its world class. Besides, you will mostly charge at much lower speed for the 80% of the time you just commute locally, so during long trips the car wont have degradation. 90% limit is good enough for daily driving. You will in average have probably 2% degradation every 6 years, so that is not much, some get even less then that.

I have a MY LR that is now scheduled for the last week of March at the Rogers, MN store. Can you clarify if PPF on the bumper and rear wheel is standard in MN? If so, that is unexpected good news as I was considering buying a DIY kit for those areas. Thanks for your work on this video.
@alexkno11 Жыл бұрын
I haven't found anything online that explicitly says what determines if it comes with PPF, but from my experience taking delivery at the Eden Prairie, MN location, it does come with rear wheel and front bumper PPF along with mud flaps. Curious if yours does too; I would think so, unless it's service center specific?

Those v3 super chargers can crank out 1k miles per hr. Cant wait for the v4 one 👍

Did you test drive the MYP? I am on the fence between the MYLR or the MYP… I hear that the MYLR has better suspension and drive quality
@alexkno11 Жыл бұрын
I've test driven the M3P (incredible) but not the MYP. Was pinching pennies and actually prefer the look of the Gemini wheels. I'd be too afraid to stress the battery too much on the Performance Model Y!

Hello … so I just picked up my MY around the time you did . However I was told I did something stupid . I charged to 90% last Friday and didn’t want to charge again cause it would’ve been peak time charging during the weekend so I depleted my battery to 3% before the next charge on Monday . I hope I didn’t ruin anything . Can I please get some insight/help ? Thanks very much
@alexkno11 Жыл бұрын
You're probably fine. It's not a habit you should follow long-term though, as the practice of completely discharging lithium ion batteries accelerates degradation. The numbers vary widely, but I'm personally striving to keep my battery between 15 - 80 % and only charging to 90 - 100% on rare occasions.
@marklefler4007 Жыл бұрын
You are.fine..just try and not keep it.super.low.for.long.times,.or.super high.for.that matter.

Yours was delivered with PPF?
@alexkno11 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think cars delivered in Minnesota automatically come with PPF on the front bumper and ahead of the rear wheels.

California superchargers are always so crowded. And almost everyone sits in their cars wasting time doing nothing rather than walking around
