I would go with white for the shiplap. White is timeless and I think the dark color would make the room dark and gloomy. Also the bed is so pretty that it won't stand out against a dark wall. I would keep things light and airy since you live in Florida.

Muted navy on the shiplap in the same finish as the gray and then up the sheen one step in the same color for the baseboards! I would also use the higher sheen navy for the dresser! I’m sure Forrest will love anything you choose for his room!

I would just choose the exact inspiration I like that works with what furniture you already have and do something very similar, that way you can visualize the feel you want for the room before you start the finishing touches.

I would paint the bottom half a darker blue in a matching hue to the gray so it’s complementary. In a shinier sheen. If you leave the baseboards white, it would look messy considering the crown moulding is colored to match the wall coloring. I would also paint the interior doors to the shiplap color/baseboards.

I would paint the shiplap a darker color. It will ground the room. If you have to leave the baseboard white, to keep Chad happy. I would paint the trim on top of the shiplap white too.

Though you didn't need to do it, you've got your wires crossed on the painters tape and caulk thing. It's not caulk that you use to get a crisp line; you use paint the colour of the trim - you do this before painting to avoid bleeding of the new colour.

I love the bed. I'm glad you left the wood. I got my daughter a bed from Craigslist when she was Forest's age. She's turning 17 and it's still in great shape. I don't have a suggestion for the paint, but you have great taste. Trust yourself.

If you paint the lower half darker, it will make the room look smaller. Make sure you use paint with Primer in it to paint the unstained wood. The trim above and below the panel should all match the paneling normally. If you want to use a darker color, I would use that on the dresser. Looks good!!😊

The lower half, shiplap included, in a rich blue, just like his helicopter light above... just so that everything goes well together, especially since the frame of the bed makes a huge contrast with the rest of the room, color wise. Also, I would opt for a tone of blue for the lower half of the walls because it's a cold color and the higher half is also that cold gray. Hope it makes sense what I'm saying. 😅

DARK SHIPLAP. It would be interesting to invoke some green here. Of course, it also needs to stay within your overall color story. You painted the ceiling trim, so white trim by the floor no longer makes sense. COLOR DRENCH DAT BEDROOM! I love that people are embracing color again (though *you always have!) For those who might not know, the "IKEA tool", is an Allen wrench, also known as a "hex key", due to its shape. They come in many sizes, sadly, but are always that same shape ~

Getting to do the first "big kid" room is always so much fun!! My first grandbaby will be 4 months old on the 11th and although she doesn't sleep in the nursery yet, we've been making it over for when she does and it has been SOOO much fun!! I've always had an eye and an interest in interior decorating, so they've given me the honor to take part in a lot of the ideas for her nursery and I've had a blast with it. So far they've taken my ideas for wallpaper for the accent wall (the accent wall was my idea too), the chandelier, the toy box and the wall and trim paint colors. We're almost done, aside from some finishing touches and I can't wait. ❤❤

In my opinion keep baseboards white. Your inspo picture you showed with dark nightstand had white baseboard and it looks good and Chads happy❤. Painting boards are a pain. Better to do before they go up. I’d say keep white or paint it all the same(as wall above) with white trim. Good luck!

Maybe pick the map first. Easier to match paint to it than the other way around. Definitely paint the ship-lap both boards. Try to match mirror or something the same as the bed. My brain exploded with your questions. You are so fun!

If you paint the shiplap darker, I would "colour drench" the room, so baseboards and shiplap a bit darker and I would do the ceiling the same colour as the walls 💁‍♀️

I personally think it would look cool if you painted the Shiplap the same color as the wall, but in alternating stripes. And then the wooden trim piece painted the same wall color too. If you paint the entire thing a darker color, I think it’ll make the room feel too dark whereas keeping the wall color coming down but with bits of white will make it feel fresher but consistent. Idk if that made any sense😂
